The manager and assistant manager have repeatedly said they are looking to bring in another defender.

It hasn't happened yet. We've only just played our first qualifying match and our first two competitive matches of the season.

The only thing I've ever seen about the 9th June is in England Premier League clubs can transfer players between themselves from that point. Where did you get this from?

Your evidence is anecdotal, mine is statistical. Actually looking at mine, I doubt he can last a full game either.

 

The hyperbole in this place is unreal sometimes: "unforgivable", "sackable offence", it's still July FFS.

I think Brendan is slowly finding out how this club works when signing players. This aint an epl club where you just say, i want him, and they go get him. This is Celtic, this is Peter Lawwell, he wont pay a * penny over what he thinks we can afford. And i think we should get used to the fact that the Brendan Rodgers revolution was just that, the Brendan Rodgers revolution. Only the management team was replaced. Everything else at the club is the same as its always been. Our only hope is to get rid of the dead wood and use that money for better quality players, which we all hope Brendan can do. But this board are never gonna go mad spending money. Only Ronny Deila left, the board are all still in place.

As usual patience and pragmatism goes out the window and the bed-wetting sets in with people. We have media telling us that we're in for a new player everyday, they have as much a clue as we do. Yet we have folk buying into it.

Pretty sure we're looking at and talking to players. We also have a number of variables at play when we are trying to sign players.

1) League Standard
2) Wages
3) European Football- Champions League Football will be of interest, but many will want it guaranteed before joining.
4) Process. Signing players isn't as simple as Football Manager makes it.

Rodgers isn't a dummy, he'll know who he wants and doesn't want. We are 3-4 weeks into the season. I would prefer to wait and on the right player, rather than sign a free transfer to appease the panic merchants.

But those stats are probably better than any center back out of our current team haha.

 

Said it for long enough the club should be signing players for our CL run in the jan window, lets them get settled and be ready for the first games come summer.
none of this running round like fannys trying to squeeze some last minte * in a window who aint ready till were out anyway.
