  1. Just want us to hurry the * up and sign someone.

  2. Bye bye James ya waist of talent ya cocky we *

It was a joke that they actually want more money for the burden of taking on Forrest.

  3. Duffy is a 2.5 to 3 million pound player and would improve Celtic no question. Forrest is rubbish - has no heart and doesn't want to play for celtic - if any transfer fee is received for him it would be a bonus

  4. Either way that's cracking business. Been dying for us to get shot of Shooders for ages, but getting bringing in an imposing defender into the bargain would be brilliant.

  5. If the reason Duffy is stalling a move with Celtic is down to money, he can't be that much of a Celtic fan tbh.

  6. Nonsense. If we're offering him £12k a week (I have no idea of the numbers involved) and a Premiership or Championship team is offering him £30k then he'd be an idiot not to consider it. In fact, you could credit him being a big Celtic fan with the fact the decision is taking him time and he's not already knocked us back. At the end of the day, it's a career choice.

  7. Robert Snodgrass is a Celtic fan but he wouldn't come here for 12k a week

  8. But realistically, he's not gonna be offered twice the wages by an EPL team. A lower EPL will offer him about 30% more at most than what he is on a Blackburn. So probably around £16-£18k, Celtic will probably offer around £12-£14k with add ons depending on European performances/silverware.

If he's good enough there won't be much in it with either team.

Celtic wouldn't even entertain an offer for Snodgrass as we couldn't afford to buy him in the first place.

  9. I'm sure we could pass around the hat on Wednesday and give it to Blackburn to take the wee * off our hands.

  10. Any player joining us would do well to separate their support for the club from making a career decision.

His support for us shouldn't really come into it, and he should be looking for the best deal he can get. You can be sure that if he came here and was pish he'd be afforded no special treatment because he's a fan.

  11. If Swansea offered me 50k a week and Celtic 20k I'd choose Swansea.

It is a short career. Some might question that attitude but I couldn't care less. :smiley-laughing002:

  12. Champions League, trophies or a relegation battle :icon_mrgreen:

  13. Extra 30k + a week, playing Liverpool, Man United, Chelsea, City and so on 10 or 12 times a season.

We don't even have guaranteed CL football. Just taking my green specs aff for a minute it's not hard to see why we fail to attract players anymore.

  14. Money. Money. Money. That's the way things are unfortunately

  15. That's an exaggerated example. I wouldn't hold it against anyone for taking up the Swansea offer in that situation, the likelihood is the disparity is a lot less than that in most cases.

If the choice was between £25k a week at Swansea/Norwich/Crystal Palace and £20k a week at Celtic it'd be Parkhead in a heartbeat.

  16. Aye, quite true but realistically Duffy will go to Swansea and rot on the bench. At least he can come to Celtic, play and improve himself as a player. And in a couple of years maybe make that big money move to the BPL

  17. I wouldn't say it is a lot less in most cases.

The amount of money down there is insane now. He is probably on a hefty wage at Blackburn Rovers already.

That choice you list there, aye, I'd choose Celtic. However when the difference is reaching double figures it'd be hard not say yes to the money.

As I say it is a career choice. Forget allegiances for a second.

  18. What a load of *, no surprise from you though......

Jackie Mac loved the club, and knocked back the paltry offer they put on the table to the club captain at that time and * of to Wolves.

  19. You could easily flip that example though.

He could try his luck with Swansea now and if it doesn't work out in a few years he could very well still end up here. Still a young guy.
