Few guys from Derry on Huddleboard who seem to know him say he was EPL bound but we've came back in with a better deal which could be a 'game changer'

    From KDS

To be fair our first choice when fit is Simunovic and Svaitchenko. Im more than happy for him to challenge them or be back up. Better option that Ambrose, Mulgrew, Boyata etc.

Always wary of these guys that pop up with things like that, KDS seems to be full of them.

Rodgers might fancy a back three.

    Was thinking that.

    ___Sviatchenko Duffy Simunovic
    Lustig/Janko__________________Tierney
    _______Allen____Brown_________
    ___________Roberts/Rogic____________
    _____Griffiths____Dembele___________

I only put Roberts there because Rodgers sees him as David Silva type.

    Same.

Finding it hard to get excited.:smiley-laughing002: Could turn out to be one of those solid signings but, who knows.

I think it is a definite.

Looks like this one is going to happen. I wonder if he does sign, will we be signing anymore? I still wouldn't mind someone experienced, Toure for a year would probably be ideal on reasonable wages.

If we sign Duffy, then there probably will be no more signings - especially since Rodgers has already stated he needs to trim the squad. That would leave us with Duffy, Sviatchenko, Simunovic, Boyata, Ambrose, Mulgrew as well as a few youth players (O'Connell, Findlay et al)

Mulgrew is out of contract and no way will Duffy be our last signing of the season, no chance.

P.S Duffy will be the best centre back in Scotland, irritates me that some people on here think he has had just one decent game v Italy.....

Mulgrew will sign a short-term contract, I believe.

If another CB - say Ambrose leaves - then there may be scope to bring in another (possibly Toure?), but one more addition to our backline will be the last, I think.

Surely BR will realise that Ambrose has to go.

Ambrose has all the attributes to be an excellent CB. If we can get a manager in to work on his composure and decision making - then by *, he'd be our best defender.

Remember his debut season for us, he was exceptional in the CL!

Ya sorry you could be bang on there, I thought you meant if we sign a defender that will be all our incoming transfers done across the whole team.

I always wanted to see more of him in a defensive midfield role in his earlier days at the club.

I'd be happy with this signing.

24, wears his heart on his sleeve, Celtic fan, big imposing figure and on the back of the season of his life at Blackburn (afaik) and Ireland. He literally came out of nowhere in the Ireland set up and then found himself starting in the last 16 of the Euros. He wouldn't have started if it weren't for injuries probably but Martin certainly rates him highly. I wouldn't mind Richard Keogh here as well in all honesty.
