How about scoring an own goal in Lisbon followed sharply by letting the ball hit u in the face slapstick style for an attacker to score? Major enough?

Throw in a needless last-minute shove at Tynecastle for good measure.

I think people should lay off Caldwell. He's a good team guy and it can't do his confidence any good. So he's not the greatest player, but some of the abuse he gets at games is unwarranted and can be vile.

Donati played last week in a great performance. We didn't look unbalanced. How does this Hartley's performance make him so invaluable when Donati did the same last week.
Donati is a much better player than Hartley.

I feel sorry for Caldwell, the abuse he gets and the lack of respect he gets. He does a very good job for us, no frills and isnt THAT accident prone, although the Benfica calamity springs to mind. But brining in Bobo on account of that? Errr how many *-ups did Bobo make in Europe over the years?

Our defence recently has struggled what with Naylor losing form, McManus not being great, never having a consistent right back and losing Neil Lennon and it seems Caldwell is taking the majority of the heat for it.

    caldwell......joke

we're lucky we have Mcmanus playing beside him.....makes up for his lack of ability.

League 1 standard which is not what we want at our club. Bring back Bobo, at least he can head the ball!!!

While no one faults the guy for effort and commitment, Its a matter of time before Caldwell does something calamatous, he's an accident waiting to happen ... and Barca is looming on the horizon.

Bear in mind Barca tend to put Ronaldinho on the left, and with Hinkel cup-tied, as sure as * you-know-who will be at right back for those games. I shudder at the thought.

I like Caddis and think he has a chance to be a real quality RB.However I think it would be dangerous to throw him in against Barca as if he gets a roasting his confidence could get shot and he could find it difficult to recover.

How long is he out for?

From what I know he almost played in the last game for Guinea so his injury cant be that bad.

not a scooby doo. all i know is he was out. and with his recent history of injuries a think he'll be out for the home game atleast. and even if he's not- would it be wise to split up the mick caldwell partnership against barca?

all in all- we've the same problem in the defence from pre january. robson maybe? with hartley donati in the middle * knows.

Na its got to be Bobo if fit. He is experienced at european level and apart from 1 or 2 very foolish mistakes he has been pretty solid at that level. He has also had 4 good games in the heat at the african nations so match fitness shouldnt be to much of an issue just as long as his thigh is fine.

If not then we will have to throw O´dea in at CB or Wilson might play RB and leave caldwell where he is. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

The problem is their isn't really any defensive combo we can play against Barca that would fill u with confidence.

I don't think we have anything to fear against barca tbh.

No offense mate but that is EXACTLY what we should be doing.

Just because we win does not mean that all is well - far from it, in fact.

If you look at the overall picture then we may have found ourselves 2-0 down before we scored.

Surely would have put a different spin on the game and again must make us question the defense.

Their goal was another embarrassment - how many shots before it went in.

I doubt Alex Ferguson would be sitting back after a defensive performance like that and be praising his players in the changing room at Man Utd.

Why should we do it at Celtic.

Gary Caldwell needs to be offloaded immediately - the guy is going to defeat us against Barca - NO DOUBT OF THAT FACT AT ALL!!:54:
