We really need him brought in for the next round of the CL if we get through as it will be tougher teams and we may only play 1 up front in one or both games and will need another quality player for the left. Wouldnt want to rely on Forrest or Armstrong.

This deal clearly isn't happening, why are we still insisting on * around? Aston Villa are just gonna push up the asking price to significantly more than what he's worth and also what we should be willing to pay, so forget it and move on to the next target.

I mean Ibai Gomez of Athletico Bilbao who I suggested a couple of days ago in the player suggestions thread as a guy we could look at if we don't get Sinclair just went to Deportivo Alaves on a free. I'd rather pick him up on a free and another winger for a couple of million, even their combined wages might not be what someone like Scott Sinclair might demand. He's on £40k a week according to Google (2.08 million a year), I mean with our wage structure we'd have to cut him down to £25k a week which is a hard enough ask anyway without the fact we're making him the joint highest paid player at the club (if it is to be believed that Brown is on £25k a week).

It just baffles me with little movement on getting the transfer done, with Villa probably asking a significant outlay, and with the wages we'll have to pay him that we're still pursuing it. That's assuming that we're actually doing anything regarding transfers of course, instead of having our thumb up our * and hoping that we can just pull through the rest of the qualifiers with the squad we've got, spend the money once we've done that. Yeah, we know how well that worked out before...

Yeah, middle of pre season and a player looking to hit the ground running under a manager very keen on players looking after themselves in the right way is going to have a fry up before his firsts day of training

 

Bet the board just give us one signing per round they won't want to spend more money than they have too it's like a little present for Rodgers each round you get a new toy to play with
