2016/17 Pre-Season Discussion Thread

the youth team will probably go to Slovenia we should be fine.

 

Aye over those 4 games the full squad will be used.

 

Can't see the first team playing much of a role in them champions cup friendlies that are 3 or 4 days before qualifiers

 

You'd think they'd want as much match practise as possible, no?

 

It's hard to know how to approach these qualifiers at this point , so many factors could affect wether we can give that tournament a decent go which would be nice given the quality were up against.
Like the balance between match practice and rest will have to be finely struck becaue when it comes to the third round it could mean a trip to the middle east again , it could be a game against a team mid season or both so well need to be in good condition like Qarabag away was more a test of stamina and work rate than football , so need to be ready for another one of those.

 

Great news. Only up the road from me. Hope they sell it out though, Limerick is more of a rugby city. Great little stadium though, and standing areas as well, if i remember correctly. Hope we bring a decent team. I'll be there anyway. Get to feel what it's like for once to just be able to walk to a Celtic game (like you lucky * who live in Glasgow), instead of a 3 day adventure. :icon_mrgreen:

The final of the Euro's is on the 10th of July, can't see any of our guys getting that far but for those who are at the Euro's, Lustig only?, that certainly doesn't seem like they get any time off.
