If Ronny can't handle a wee chap on the door then it's him that's the problem. A simple try harder to get in the team, you are more than capable and you're contracted for 2 years is all it would take.

We might need Izzy sooner than we think.

I'm possibly, no, definitely, way way off here, but it's an inkling, nothing more. Tierney seems to have wonky legs. A case of the Jim Leightons about them. And he's always desperate to have his socks down, possibly due to a calf issue, socks too tight you know. Somethings gonna pop one game and he'll be out for weeks.

    Or not :smiley-laughing002:

Always think 18/21 is a precarious age for a footballer, injury wise, muscles still growing and all that. Always seems to be the age a long injury gets picked up more.

No data to back that up, just something I've noticed.

Given my post, I think people will let you off for your lack of data :smiley-laughing002:

I just don't see Tierney being the type of player to get injured alot , have nothing to back that up with , just the impression i get with the way he plays . Plenty of bumps and bruises but nothing long term .

Also , i actually think we could get an alright fee for Izzaguirre if he were to be sold ( 2 mill? ) . Could be worth it if the player isn't happy playing second fiddle. Leave Chico as back up LB .

It just seems like that, I've never bothered to look it up. Lots of injuries between those age groups.

I think that's the age group that players seem to get serious long term injuries that re occur throughout their careers. Often knee ligament trouble .

If Izzy goes we'll have Mulgrew for cover or that other youngster McIlduff. Looked good against Valencia, worth a chance.

Aye, makes sense to me that, growing body with a lot of heavy training, sometimes will take it's strain.

It did make me chuckle as well :smiley-laughing002:

I think the wee man is such a tough, willing and commited player, that he'll end up with plenty of knocks rather than real lay offs..

His fitness has improved massively. Remember after an hour and he was dying off his feet? Think Fenerbache away was the last time I saw him blowing before 90 minute's when he absolutely wrote off a player and took a yellow, just after he'd burst up the left..

Been no sign of that for month's. What a role model for the other youngster's looking up..

Tierney doesn't strike me as a Daniel Sturridge-type player who can't handle an injury - have sen him being clattered many a time this season and get straight back up and on with it, proper wee hard *.

I love him, like he was my own.

It's not knocks that would worry me, he can take a knock, injuries aren't always about mental toughness though.

I'm not saying he's suspect to them btw, just that I think it's a precarious age both in that manner and for form as well, it'd be good to be able to take him away from flack if he ever needs to be.

A romantic vision no doubt but mistaken as it is this kind of attitude that will cost us titles. Like it has been said he is under contract for two years let it run down to a bosman ta *, having cover is just as important as having good first team options. Young Tierney has been great but Jesus Christ no need to cut Izzy loose yet. At left back we are now in a position of strength and there is no need to interfere with this arrangement even if Izzy wants to leave.

Aye, think I get you and agree.

We all want Tierney to make that spot his, and he practically has. But why cut izzy out completely when he would be ideal for the next two years to cover the development of Tierney.
Then once Tierney is 20 and grown in to the player, we can look at the next kid. Perhaps mcilduff.

I doubt Izaguirre wants to sit here for the next two seasons playing second fiddle to Kieran Tierney. Nor should he. If he's not going to play, he'll be off in the summer.

Who cares if he wants to? He's got two years left on his contract, we won't get a very good bid in for him and he is capable of upping his play a level.

And it's better all round for Celtic.
