The reason there is so much negativity is because we got pumped in Europe yet again, have a manager who is clearly not good enough, has no plan B and will not change his tactics and we just got put out the cup.

We would not be cheering this 2-3 seasons ago having a guy who scoring record is * and a trouble maker, a young lad who has not played much game time and will be picked before most of our players because of his parent club, and the only saving grace is we have got a highly rated centre half since our centre half pairing is utter *.

I'm OK with the business. We've brought in a young international cb to bed in for Europe. This was the most important thing, and I reckon if it was done yesterday rather than tied up early in a professional manner folk would be much more excited. Roberts seems like a good move for us, we've got a guy that we couldn't afford who, if he plays as well as his price tag suggests, would be sold after 18 months anyway. And if cbr is a direct swap for ciftci then I'll take that. Plus Nesbitt out on loan in the spl.

I doubt we'll have major departures like last season so the squad can only get better in the summer also.

Not a bad way of looking at the Roberts deal. Im not overly excited about it to be honest but he has to be better than what we have.
GMS is to hot and cold for me.
Forrest can perform but just lacks end product to often imo
Armstrong is never a winger /wide player

Hopefully he has a bit of composure about him. If we r going to continue with 1 upfront with 3 behind we really need to start finding guys that can play in the 3 that can score on a regular basis.

I watched armstrong cutting against Ross county on Sunday. Still outside the box but had the full goal to aim at and was under little pressure. Leaning back all the way he dinked ( wasn't even a proper shot) 20 yards over the bar.
The most worrying thing was he didn't even seem that disappointed with himself about it

Stokes is gone. The reason for the negativity is we have signed a striker that doesn't even have 50 career goals its simply not good enough.

I think we did OK. Sviatchenko looks very good, Roberts can do a job for us for 18 months (if he stays the duration) and Kazim-Richards is a bit of a low-cost gamble.

I want to see us making big strides in the Summer. I'd love to see us go out and get Ajer, Elyounoussi, McGeady and Fletcher.

Though we'd need to ship out a lot of the fringe players first.

Our squad is bloated with *. I'd rather give game time to youngsters than to * like Ambrose.

I'd rather cut our loses with a lot of the players who aren't going to feature. I know it's difficult to do but there's got to be other fools that will take them.

Our business model can't afford to waste decent money on * which has happened for far too long now.

I know there's always some players that we think will make an impact then fail to live up to their promise then there's players who everyone knows is * after a few games yet we still go for them. It's not on. I don't understand how some scouts still have a job...

As for the manager, he's included in the flop list. Shocking appointment. No faith in the clueless *.

You'd think he'd been a winger for the majority of his career with a record like that. Oh wait.......

We've loaded our squad up with too many 'half-decent' players. Particularly in forward positions. I think we've signed a volume of players in the hope that one of them will be a star performer. Griffiths has, but then the likes of Mackay-Steven, Armstrong, Allan, Forrest, McGregor have all been OK at best.

I like them all, but we have to make tough decisions and get rid of 3/4 average players to fund a very good one.

Given signing quality in January is rare because no one wants to let guys playing regularly go, bringing in Sviatchenko and Roberts is a feather in the cap.

I think Kazim-Richards has soured it for some but at the end of the day he is going to be no worse than the guy he has replaced, Ciftci.

Completely agree. I think the toughest thing in the summer is picking which average players stay and which ones move on.

Look at that Commons role, which we don't really play any more - Rogic, McGregor, Commons, Christie and Allan. * sake. I'm not a big fan of any of them playing centre mid (maybe being harsh on Rogic and christie) as I feel the balance of the team is off.

I even feel forest is bang average. I don't feel he has progressed at all since his debut. I would seriously consider shifting him.

Then you've got people stealing a wage (eg Derk). I know we were stupid enough to pay his weekly shopping trips.

The whole system that brought Wanyama et al. Is warpoed and has been * with.

I'm glad we've tried going down the route of trying some home grown Scots, and I feel some will come good, they won't reach the heights of Wanyama, ledley, Forster, lustig, van dijk etc. though.

If a serious talent comes up in Scotland, we'll overlook them as we feel the clubs are asking for too much eg McCarthy, Robertson. There are reasons why they ask for the price they do.

Our turnover of players walking out the door for free after paying millions in transfer fees for them and thousands of pounds each week (no doubt they had a severance package too) is * shocking. Someone at the club must be accountable for this.

    He's alive?

I heard him and Janko are under a cornfield just next to Lennoxtown.

Just checked the official website and we have 31 first team players. Mental.

14 midfielders and half of them are attacking midfielders.:smiley-laughing002:

Thing is though he has been signed by some pretty decent teams so must show something. Can't recall seeing him myself so I'll reserve judgement just now. He might just do us a turn.

Not sure I agree that we are continually downsizing. I don't know the figures but with the size of the squad I would imagine the wage bill just now is comparable to 5 years ago. It's true we cut back under Gordon Strachan but not sure that is continuing.

Problem is there is no money in Scottish football and we are now a selling club.

Exactly. Where is the value in selling these players if we are not using the cash to strengthen? That is the whole point of selling these players i.e. they made us an offer we couldn't refuse.
