Disappointing from Roberts if true, I realise how angry and frustrated he must be but that could give Brendan even more of an excuse not to play him if he feels he's being undermined.

Should have played tonight. Absolutely no doubt. I thought maybe he might be carrying a knock so they don't want to risk aggravating it on that horrendous pitch. Surely there must be a reason he didn't play.

Maybe they thought that he would struggle to get past people on that pitch with the ball bouncing all over the place and a very packed box.
Its only game one...maybe the manager wanted forrest in the shop window.
Im sure he will get plenty games in due course.
to say the manager does not like him because he didnt play in the first few games would be as bad as saying the manager rates Efe highly becuase he did play.

Lines to read nothing between there is.

if he played some of those heartless shitebags to put them in the shop window, he would be better pulling the curtains shut because we wouldnt get rid of some of the clowns if we gave them away free

I wish this would get clarified because if he is fully fit and didn't play then serious questions have to be asked about Rogers and his team. Only thing I can think of is he didn't want to risk one of his best players on a horrendous pitch, but Griffiths and Dembele both played so that doesn't really make sense.

I fancy that pitch wouldn't suit Roberts' game. A dry, bobbly pitch and dry ball can't be dribbled the way Roberts likes to.
I'd be very surprised if he isn't playing the home leg.

Roberts never said anything- basically someone else sent a tweet that he re tweeted -implying that he was wasting his time on the Celtic bench and should have been in France playing U 19 for Engerlund!

If he's going down the road of taking to social media to vent his frustrations it isn't going to end well.

He shouldn't be doing * like that regardless of how he feels. He needs to get the head down and be professional.

I'd love to know Rodgers thinking in not playing him at all. He was poor in the pre season friendlies I watched him in, and not sure the pitch would have suited him last night. I still would have put him on with 20 minutes to go at the very least.

he retweeted this then deleted the retweet within minutes

Meanwhile, somewhere in Gibraltar, rather than face France U19s, Pat Roberts watches on from the bench as Celtic lose to some part-timers.

If that's his attitude send him back. * thinks he's an automatic starter now? Work harder then.

Cheers, McClean did the same thing one time with Ireland when playing Kazahkstan, he promptly removed it apologised to the squad and put his head down. I hope Roberts does the same. If not he can go back to Man City.

I don't blame him if he did it. * scandalous that he isn't getting a look in.

He chose to play for us in the CL qualifiers over playing for England this summer. He has every right to be * off.
