There is NO chance that any new proposed manager would be there today. It would be undermining the current manager

Yeah i would think so, today is about Ronny, giving the guy a send off, plenty of time to unveil the new man.

Well it's definitely not going to be Mark McGee,unless there's a cunning plan.

Guy next to me was making claims about Flores from watford being next manager. Sick of the rumours. Just want announcement to be made and get work started for next season asap.

My main worry about Neil is that he hasn't really learned anything since leaving us.

His reign at Bolton was unsuccessful for a number of reasons, mainly financially. I don't really think he has progressed in the last two years.

Hard to say for sure if he hasnt learnt anything from his time at Bolton.

His time with us was a success and altho the football at times was not the most pleasing on the eye he did have us playing some really good stuff at times. Had he been backed the way he wanted by the board then i honestly think he would still be our manager now.

I agree with what alot of people say about going backwards by bringing a previous manager back, altho i would stay it worked out with big Billy Mcneill and im sure no one would be saying anything if MON was to come back. I just think Lenny would be a safe pair of hands and seeing as this appointment is so crucial i wouldnt be against it if he wer to come back.

Neil was a great servant and I have a lot of respect for him, but I don't want him back

We had some good seasons under Lennon and every fan to a man supported him as manager, but we stagnated in his last season which he admitted, and I remember his speech on the last day of the season saying he was looking to next season etc.

He left quite soon after that and it * us for the upcoming UCL in alot of ways, either he seen the opportunity for a club in England, or the board must have changed the transfer terms shortly after the last day.

We cant let sentimentality get in the way of the next appointment, by that I mean the board appointing a 'Celtic man' which the media loves to say, bringing Lennon back falls into that category I feel.

    Rodgers please.

Then we might see football like today on a consistent basis.

That's what I've been thinking lately. It would be a continuation of Ronny except a manager who can command a bit more respect from the players and deliver that sort of football on a more consistent basis.

We shouldn't give up on the fast, attacking, short passing way of playing football just because it hasn't worked out under one manager. It's still the best way to play football and it's most definitely the best style to watch when it's at its best.

There's the argument to be made that we need a more pragmatic and defensive manager for European football and that may be the case but there was times in Europe under Ronny where we did play some really good football and it encouraged me into believing we could play that way against decent opposition, we just need to be a lot stronger mentally and a bit more streetwise and I reckon Rodgers could bring those things along with the good football. Would be a very good appointment.

    Pretty much this.

I see Rodgers as a more accomplished, advanced Deila.

His Liverpool team were pretty shocking at the back though, that's my main worry.

I remember speaking to a Liverpool fan once who told me that the only real time they looked solid at the back under Rodgers was when Carragher was playing, as he was organising the defence himself.

Still though, he blows a lot of the other candidates out of the water.
