See, this is why we shouldn't do polls until folk have calmed the * down. Next day or something but not straight after a duff result. It's like Apocalypse Now.

I've been a big fan of ronny from the start, same with Johansen, this season has been the undoing of both of them. I want to like Ronny, the fans want to like Ronny but he's far too stubborn and out of touch to keep managing this team. Blame the players all you like but every single one on that pitch is better than the counterparts from Molde. Put into perspective, molde is a town of 26,000 with a stadium of 12,000 half full.. They are the Norwegian equivalent of Inverness caley thistle . 4 years ago we were in the last 16 and fully capable of bearing the likes of CSKA Moscow .. From one of the worlds biggest cities . obviously population means nothing to a team but Maribor malmo molde... When does it end?

100% agree Football isn't played on paper we can't just expect to turn up. Malmos main man was Marcus Rosenberg a decent player at best on his day but then you have guys like Berget who couldn't even get on the bench here.

Even if we are at the same level as those teams you still can't blame the board they have spent the money maybe it's the scouts who aren't up to the job

Yeah but it's nowhere near the same situation as four years ago, it's an unfair comparison.

Aye but why is that? I don't like to try to live in the past or try justifying everything by legendary players before us but losing 3-1 with a performance that could've easily cost us more to a team 7th in the Norwegian team puts a lot into perspective. When does it end? In 3 years when we're grateful for qualifying for Europa and have to justify 30,000 attendance's by comparing us to teams in the same situation from Romania and Slovenia etc.. Ronny has been the guy pushing how far celtic have come but really how far have we come? Were we bottom of the Europa league group this time last year?

I still have alot of respect for him and his philosophy, their is no reason we can not keep the positives he has brought like fitness, while under new coaching staff, it is not working out under him and he seemed clueless tonight

Best post ive seen all night. We are so * arrogant, "We are a better team than this lot and that lot" bullshit. We are a * team in european terms. Yes, we spend way more than these other teams on players and wages. But we have to because of being so close to the big spending epl. We have an awful lot of crap players on way better wages than some of these other teams can afford, The money you spend on players and wages doesnt automatically give you a better team unless you are spending like real madrid. Our team is just not good enough. End of. As for Ronnie, i dont know. He certainly has some talented players to build his team around but i think he has to get ruthless cos theres some of those players who shouldnt be on the pitch.

I was his biggest fan for a long time but I think its time to give a Scottish manager a shot again at managing Celtic.

Why does he have to get ruthless in order to make a tactical change, and make it before the 75th minute. He's a "one plan Dan" who doesn't know what to do if plan A isn't working.

We're a * team now Markybhoy, right now. In terms of spending O'Neill's teams were peanuts compared to Real, Strachan's team? Peanuts. Lennon's? Peanuts.at least they were * teams with balls that went out and over achieved.

I tend to agree with you there but what i meant about being ruthless is dropping players like Izzy and Effe and others who havent been performing, even if he has to use kids. Thats even before plan A begins.

I think people are kidding themselves if they think that Ronny has been backed sufficiently in the summer for us to do well in Europe this season. We lost a top class central defensive partnership, making 12.5 million in the process. We replaced them with a Manchester City reject, and were then given about 3-4 million to replace Van Dijk, which was spent on Simunovic (who we can't really judge yet tbf).

We have needed a left full for a couple of years and the manager still hasn't been given the money to get one, this is probably because they have identified Tierney as a decent prospect/back up player.

We went into this season with two first team strikers.

Fair enough we have signed a * load of young Scottish players, mainly midfielders (Christie, Allan, GMS, Armstrong) then we already have Henderson and Tierney coming through. It's clear these signings are all long term ones and that Ronny is trying to build something for the future, and obviously the board are more than happy with this because its cheaper than trying for instant success.

Look at what Ronny did at Stromsgodset, he was there for 5/6 seasons before he built a title winning side with absolutely * all money. I think tonight shows as well winning a title in that league is nothing to be looked down on (something else a lot of Celtic fans are kidding themselves about).

The more I think about it, it is just complete madness to call for Ronny's head after tonight's result (or the Malmo one). The reactions after every bad result we have in Europe is embarrassing. We were spoiled under Lennon with the CL run in his third season and I think that has raised our fans expectations to an unrealistic level. What Lennon did that season was absolutely incredible. What people are forgetting though is that we had to wait a couple of seasons for that run, we had some dark nights before that (Braga, Utrecht and Sion the ones that stick out).

I'm fairly certain Ronny will come good but it's going to require a bit of patience for his plan to develop. Like I've said we have signed young players for a reason. I know for a fact if I was a manager and knew I wasn't going to be around much longer than a year or two, I wouldn't be signing half the amount of young players Ronny has. He's not going anywhere anytime soon and if he did we would be worse off.

He has shown nothing that any other average joe soap couldnt have achieved as manager , in fact it could be argued he has done a * of a lot worse !! Lets face facts it would take a * up of epic proportions for any manager not to win the spl with celtic as it currently stands (although that's even a struggle just now)!! Cut ties and give a new managerial team time to prepare for next season !!

Here's the thing though. You don't get much time at Celtic to produce, that's the way it works. One year down the line and we've still not got a settled back 4.

Yes we have lost players, but the teams we are playing, their squads cost a fraction of ours. They are better organized. Molde, Malmo and Maribor are not big spenders.
