Simunovic needs to get himself in shape and impress the manager and the fans. If anyone is taken in by a bit or PR suggesting he is wanting to be here then fair enough. Facts are that he played less games in his first season than Derk did in his. He was neither spectacular or poor in the games he did play in. But that is not good enough now. There are 3/4 players ahead of him. Needs to knuckle down and show what the club paid good money for.

    Lots of convincing to do.

4m Euros/£3.4m less whatever sell on fee was agreed with Zagreb, 20% or 25% quoted at the time. So let's say it's 20% sell on which means we would net around £2.75m. In today's market that's pretty paltry and would just about be the cost of Pogba's left foot - not the ex-Patrick boy...The other one.

Not read the recent posts but posted the other day when he looked like he was for the off. Happy he has now stayed. Don't care for the money if we are lot willing to spend I'm certainly not wanting to see money coming in for good players.
Now that he's here our backine is the strongest it's been for a long long time. I was looking for him to get fit again and pair up with erik but now toure has arrived he's made a huge difference to our defence.
    LB. Tierney, izzy
CB. Toure, Erik, Jozo, o'connell (never really rated him before but did very well when he has played under BR) and also boyata n efe in background.
RB. Lustig who seems fit and gamboa who might well push for selection, like the look of him just hoping he can defend.

Along with new keeper that can play it out n a decent keeper so it seems.

Thats very good if you ask me. Esp if you consider what we has this time last year.

So very happy with that end of the pitch and couldn't really get any better.

I don't believe his statement. Think it was typed up to appease us. Footballers are mercenary *. He would have been on a fortune at Torino compared to at Celtic. That will eat away at his desire. I give him 2 weeks before he's off on the sick again.

    Appease us?

I don't think anyone is really that bothered tbh. The club accepted a bid for him, It's not like he was pushing for the move against the clubs will.

Pish, seen on video of him misplacing passes and now have some vendetta against him.

You're always embarrassingly angry man, in all seriousness drop me a pm if you've got some underlying issues - happy to help:50:

If you've looked at his Twitter and how he talks to the fans this summer, you will know that's not just done to appease us.
Maybe the whole thing is fake as * (his Twitter account being real but he acts fake), but its completely keeping in line with his previous attitude when he speaks to the fans.
Don't think the torino deal should be looked in to too much. They made a bid, it matched roughly what we paid for and the club were reasonably happy we had enough to cover. He went and seen what was what. It all went * up and he stays, that's life.
Christ loads of us go for job interviews while we still have jobs. Some don't get the new job, but we still go back and do our job properly and can work and enjoy the fellow staff.

Also don't think torino wage package is anywhere near as grand as folk make out. They will have space for a couple high earners, but nothing drastic like the epl. Outside the top 4 or 6, the wage and money in Italy will not be as great as you would think. Same goes for spain, outside the top 3 you will find a lot of clubs and players will surprise you.

He hit two long range shots that tested the keeper, in a Europa League match. That's my main memory of his performances for us. Defensively he was no better than average. I wasn't bothered if he was sold and the fact that the club were trying to make sure Torino took him permanently - and not on loan - tells me that the manager and other backroom staff think one of two things; he isn't good enough or is far too injury prone.

    He is a good defender.

You are a bizarre young man with the most exaggerated opinion on everything.

    Take it easy.

Nearly over the fact that he doesn't want to be here..

Hoping that the few of us, who have a feeling he's not going to be fit anytime soon, are proven wrong and that BR can get the best out of him. Until, of course, another pish team comes along and he jumps on the first plane he can (after telling us he's staying and he's happy at Celtic... The *!) :icon_mrgreen:

Even if Rodgers and the backroom staff do rate Jozo, £3.5 million is too good an offer to turn down for a injury prone player. Its up to Jozo now to show what he can do because he has come out and said he passed the medical so other than getting his match fitness there is nothing stopping him playing. So lets see it Jozo, now is the time big man.

Agreed. When you invest a lump sum in a player you at least want to give them/that investment every chance of coming good.

Because Celtic accepted an offer but the deal didn't work out, now this lad won't give his all for Celtic? I don't understand that logic.

I'm glad he stayed. Once he gets playing we will see his value rise.

The thing I don't like about this guy is how he regularly post on twitter giving the impression he will be back soon and there is still no sign of his return. Mark my words he will paly one or two games then be injured again.
