    He's the best player we have on the national side, which in most cases isn't saying much since the Canadian national side is pish anyways. But, De Rosario is a good player IN the MLS. The MLS is * compared to the SPL. Would he be able to be the class player that he is in the MLS if he switches over to the SPL?


    And yes, his celebration is very.......different.

    virgo and du wei never really played enough to get a fair shout,
    dion dublin was crap, 1 of WGS's mates and he was providing his pension plan

    i wonder if the mls is complete * compared to the spl. The Old Firm is miles ahead, true, but Gretna? St. Mirren? Dundee?

    Houston, New England, and DC are far from terrible sides... Saying that the good MLS teams would be under the worst Scottish teams may be a bit like the guys that rank Celtic and Rangers as under the majority of the EPL.

    As for De Rosario, its too bad he's old, I think he could have done well after adapting to Europe. Its probably smarter to just look for the younger mls talents like Altidore, who I think is going to Europe now (?)

    Du Wei - Chinese market marketing tool, brought in more money then he cost.

    Dion Dublin - Scored a couple goals but was never brought to Celtic Park as anything more than an experienced footballer that our younger players could rely on in training.

    Mo Camara - Apparently was lined up pre Strachan era, however not good enough.

    Caldwell - Versatility, Scotland regular, model pro, better than the majority of Celtic fans percieve just because he's unfashionable.

    Virgo - Poor signing, not good enough.

    Pressley - Experienced pro of which we require especially in Europe with our team being so young in comparison with the other 15 teams left in the competition. As for his playing days he's lost pace and will never be a regular starter.

    I agree 100% with how you rate Caldwell, he's done fine work lately out of position. He'll partner back up with Mick when either Coelho or Hinkel take over at the right.

    Same goes for what ya think of pressley. He's a gritty, tough veteran. Having said that he is too slow and his decision making/positioning is not flawless enough to account for that lack of speed.

    Yes, he may seem good on the videos but:
    1. I doubt he would be suitable for the Scottish game.
    2. He's like 30.
    3. You can't really judge how good he really is because of the standard of opposition he plays against.

    hmm 30ish...the fans think hes too old...cant cut it...never heard of him...

    all we need is hugh keevins to come out and slag off strachan for not signing someone with proven pedigree and going for an unknown quantity and weve got ourselves another...
