Harry Kewell #6 THREADS MERGED#

Discussion in 'Transfer Rumours' started by Diamond1888, Jan 1, 2008.

  1. Harry Kewell to Celtic

    What do you's reckon?

Kewells manager, Bernie Mandic, has rubbished the stories as rumours over here on Fox Sports News (aust) but then again, this is Bernie Mandic we're talking, a man who made more than HK did on the Leeds to Liverpool transfer deal.

Would you play him ain the centre as a creative force feeding Geads and Naka or the strikers directly or would use him on the left side as he's always been played?

    Irrelevant question, we won't be signing him for two reasons;

    1. He's *
    2. He's * and always injured

If I can think of any further reasons throughout the course of the day, you'll be first to know.

    PS>>> HE'S REALLY, REALLY *!

  2. Bernie Mandic is a *, he's the one that * us about when we signed Mark Viduka.

I hate to say it but a player like Harry Kewell represents part of the signing market we are in. We cant afford top drawer players who are in their peak.
Our signings policy is full of risk (and thats not a criticism) we buy young players with potential, with the hope of selling them on for megabucks after a few seasons, and we buy seasoned pro's.
We buy the best players who are available at the time within our budget and wage policy who are willing to play for Celtic.

  3. No thanks.

  4. the same was said about hartson before he came

  5. Id take him on a pay as you play basis. The guy has potential if he can get a run of football together. And more than a few players have come from the Premiership as under achievers and found the space to recapture some form in SPL. Kewell at his best would be a great player for us, a CL class player.

  6. Not by me mate. Maybe by others because he failed his medical at Mordor, but not by me. I was always a big fan of Hartson and still am. He's an old fashioned forward, big, strong, very good in possession and knows what's going on around him. Wouldn't mind another big bad John right now to be honest.

  7. if he could stay injury free he would be a class player, and would only take on a lower wage with bonus for appearances, goals

  8. He wdnt stay injury free long in our league!

Why are we always on the list for some other teams dross? Thanks but no thanks :38:

  9. Far to injury prone. Passed his best about 2 years ago. Half the player as mcgeady is. and his wages would be high for a * player. * that idea

  10. Fully fit Kewell is better than anything in the SPL, when he was leaving Leeds he had just about every single top level club in the world to choose from, there's a reason for that - he's quality.

That being said has he been fully fit in years? He's being used more this season but he may have lost a yard or two of pace, i haven't seen enough to comment tbh.

  11. Wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole.

  12. injury free he'd be a great signing.
    cracking player when on form.

  13. When has he ever hit this 'form' though? He's injured more than Craig Battie and that is saying something.

While I have no doubt in his ability he never seems to have any adequate time to show it due to his injuries.

  14. yeah, i must agree with the guys that say he wouldn't last two seconds in scotland! good player don't get me wrong.. too much to risk with wages and all. there are a few guys out there that could do the same job as him if not better without all the risk! I think celtic should be looking for younger players too... 25-27 e.g a wee bit of expierience goes a long way, and we need someone who can keep fit, inspire and have the desire to play for the 3 seasons in a row champions of scotland!! HAIL HAIL

  15. Since season 2005-06 he has made 16 appearance's

The guys constantly injured , forget him.

  16. I was talking about this with some guys at work. I guessed he'd maybe played a dozen games in 3 years, sixteen is still laughable. Five games per season.

It would be madness to sign him.

  17. He'd be permanently on the physio table because the SPL is more physically demanding than the EPL.

With our transfer policy, I dont think we'd ever go after him anyways

  18. im not too sure , strachan may feel he's got something to give ( a sicknote imo lol)

The same newspaper rumour mentioned boatang ,32,

    we just dont need it

kewell would be the most ridiculous signing iv ever seen , he really should just quit , problem being theres nothing that will be able to cover his current wage lol

  19. Agreed 100 %.

Better than that wheelie bin JVOH. Even in the condition he's in.
