Surprised no one in Scotland or England have made a move for Towell, he has been brilliant at Dundalk.

He was always a bang average youth left back wasn't he? :smiley-laughing002:

Was checking the LOI one day and saw he was top scorer and had to rub my eyes :smiley-laughing002:

He flunked on trial at Cardiff last November by all accounts

I am surprised by that. I know LOI isn't a good standard but good players have come out of it before and Towell is head and shoulders above most players in it at the moment. His goal record for a midfielder is very impressive, no matter what the level is.

Agree and we have seen Chris Forrester recently leave St Pats to join Peterborough so I would think we will likely be seeing Towell plying his trade across the water somewhere soon.

    Tonight's fixtures

    Bohs v St. Patrick's Athletic
    Derry City v Bray Wanderers
    Drogheda United v Cork City
    Galway United FC v Limerick
    Shamrock Rovers v Dundalk

Dundalk can win the league tonight if they beat Rovers.

I'm not confident of Bohs winning tonight. We haven't beaten Pats for 5 years. Last win against them was October 2010, when we were defending Champions.

richie towell played centre mid for the celtic youth team he was on, and he was a good player and scored lots of goals. I watched lots of their games because I had celtic tv on the setanta platform. All that team were let go even they won the double, I think some of them are playin at spl level now or champo level, gardyne, tidser and fox.
I also heard that towell is on very good money at dundalk, his missus is pregnant and in dundalk , the man is like jesus. I see wee kids getting richie towell haircuts.
He also got * around at hibs by fenlon who played him right full.
I reckon he is good enough to play spl and possibly championship in england, but he is very slight and feeble looking, so maybe he would be better off staying with dundalk. He would need to bulk up if he wants to play at a higher level.

    He ain't slight or feeble

  10. I always liked Towell in the Celtic youth teams as well, if I recall right he turned down Spurs and Liverpool to join Celtic. Was always a well rounded decent player reminded me of Mark Wilson, capable of playing across midfield or in defence.

He is on a fortune, a large portion paid by their sponsor.

He was feeble five years ago not now :56:

Well it all worked out for you against St Pats tonight. All things considered a pretty solid season this season for Bohs really.

Congratulations to Dundalk on back to back titles. Very worthy champions. I think that sees them level with Bohs on 11 title wins. Have to be favourites to win the double as well with the FAI Cup Final still to come.

He wasn't on trial with Cardiff or anyone else. He has confirmed this many times in interviews. He has also stated he unless it's Eng Champ or higher (I assume he accept SPL too) he will be at Dundalk next year.

Hes still not our best player but he has been excellent for us since he arrived

Our chairman confirmed on a few occasions none of our squad are on over €1000 a week. You really think he is getting the guts of €80000 as he is one of the few we have on 52 week contracts

What was he doing at Cardiff so?

    Not your best player :56:

I said he was on just under 2k all on, you might only be paying half of that yourself, whilst your sponsor picks up the rest
