Let's not be happy that we have healthy competition in a position?

Now we have Roberts for the season there is only one contender out right quite frankly imo when both are fit.
Not at the expense of Roberts (even if he is here for just this season).

Forrest deserves to keep his place, he has been sensational so far this season and he is our player.

Dropping him now would shatter his confidence and I'm quite confident it wont happen. Brendan is far too shrewd for that, he knows how to manage players and their egos.

Let's not be happy for competition? Do you even like Celtic? Or do you just fancy Roberts? We all remember what it's like to be 14... Ripping the head off it as much as we can. Not to guys, right enough :smiley-laughing002:

Wanted to leave the club? Where/when did he say that?

When he didn't sign the contract he was offered last season he made that perfectly clear what his thoughts were about staying at Celtic at that time.

It shouldn't be a competition, Roberts * all over Forrest ability wise.

Maybe the terms weren't what he wanted. Doesn't mean he didn't want to be here.

And yes, Roberts is the better player imo too, but Forrest hasn't put a foot wrong since replacing him and it could dent his confidence. Also, what message would that send out to the team?

Forrest doesn't deserve to be dropped.

Everyone I know is delighted that Forrest is showing this form, even some who had given up on him. All agree that there is no way he should lose his place right now.

A good man manager will never drop form players no matter how good his replacement is, it creates an unhappy dressing room.

I'm confident Forrest will keep his place.
Brendan strikes me as someone who dozen't believe in favorites, and will keep players in the team on their form and commitment.

Roberts is a better player, but dropping Forrest would be harsh. He's not really put a foot wrong so far, and scored 2 big goals in the league in 2 games.

Don't think he will be dropped anyway.

Agreed. Also with Rogic no being able to consistently play a run of 90 minute game's, we can easily accommodate 1 of either Sinky or Paddy centrally..

But we're playing mediocre sides most weeks domestically, of course more often than not Forrest is going to have decent games domestically. Simply because there isn't any team in this league that can handle him when he's in full flow, point is though Roberts in full flow is an entirely different proposition to Forrest in full flow for the SPFL teams. Roberts is another level of being a handful. Play Roberts every week and he won't put a foot wrong either, in fact he'd be far more consistent than Forrest for me.

What does matter is Europe, who would you rather on the right wing in Europe and who do you think would have a bigger impact on the game? You know like I do that man is Roberts so when fit deserves to take his place back in the team.

Look at what Roberts done to the Kazakh LB in comparison to what Forrest done to the HBS LB? Night and day who roasted who most and should make Brendans decision an easy one once Roberts is back fully fit.

He played well against Beer Sheva, with an assist for Griffiths' header. Put in a shift as well. He's playing well and building confidence, for the first time in quite a while now. Dropping him would just dent his confidence again.

    You play your form players.

I agree with SD that dropping him now would damage his confidence. Rodgers has to find a way to keep both happy. Difficult one.

It's not difficult for me. Forrest is our player and as long as he is doing the business and we are winning matches then he must be accommodated. To drop a form player for a loanee is utter madness for a variety of reasons.

Be good if we could accommodate them all.

Personally, I think Forrest is better suited to be a impact sub in Europe. Come on in the second half, to run against tired legs...

Not if the loanee can take us up another level, which Roberts definitely can.

It's easily solved though, put Roberts on for whoever is playing worse out of Sinclair and Forrest and whoevers playing best gets the nod.
