That is clearly pish - I don't believe Celtic would 'make an offer' to his agent, while he is under contract - MAYBE a question as to whether he would be interested AFTER his agent approached Celtic ........

It's quite common for clubs to speak to agents first....gauge the players interest, get an idea of salary expectations etc

It could be we have approached the club about a transfer fee first and the agent about personal terms.

He came from the Ajax youth but was never good enough for Ajax' first team. Very big and clumsy player for a left back. Decent with the ball at his feet but also very slow. Now at Willem II he is a good player for them. But Celtic level? Don't think so. Maybe at CB he can do a job because of his physical presence.

I don't recall that, maybe he looks slower because of his height

I'm just going by reputation, so you might be right. I'd be very suprised if we signed a slow full back though, Ronny likes pace

Yes true. But bottom line, I think we should not be excited about this rumour. Won't take us to the next level

I thought that would be the case to be honest, a 6ft 4 left back is rare and it's even rarer to find a guy that height with decent pace e.g. VVD.

Maybe he'd be brought in purely for cover?

"We will see if we can make it," he said. "We are talking with a lot of players now, going around trying to strengthen and he is one of them."

From the boyata story says we are talking to a lot of people so he may be one

Lennon actually did, yonks ago. It just gos to show how long we have lacked backup up/competition here.

In fairness I thought young Tierney did well last night.

Good! don't think Ronny's gonny * about. He clearly knows what he wants and by the look of things we might actually get them in early this year for a change
