CELTIC will seal the deal to sign Nadir Ciftci from Dundee United today — on a bumper four-year deal.

The Tannadice club accepted a £1.5million bid for the Turkish target man late on Monday night.

Now Hoops chiefs expect to finalise talks with the 23-year-old today and agree a long term contract until the summer of 2019.

Ciftci’s agent Pierre van Hooijdonk was still abroad yesterday but negotiations over personal terms continued throughout the day with United chairman Stephen Thompson resigned to losing the player.

Club insiders told SunSport last night that only the formalities had to be sorted out.

They believe the length of contract shows how much faith they have in the former NAC Breda ace.

As we revealed exclusively last December, Ronny Deila had set his sights on signing him in the winter transfer window but instead raided Tannadice for Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong.

Ciftci, however, remained Deila’s top target going into the summer and a deal was struck with United on Monday night after Hoops tabled their third bid.

Barring any last-minute hitches the attacker will be paraded this afternoon.

Alex O'Henley tweeted saying a 4 year deals been agreed, looks like it'll be done tomorrow. Like how quick we're getting business done.

I'm in the minority amongst my friends but I think its a good signing in keeping with our business model. £1.5m for a player we know can play/score in the league, offers pace, strength and flair seems reasonable business with the plus that the money spent stays in Scottish football. Let's face it the club could speculate on a player like Scepovic or Pukki and spend similar amounts but there's no guarantee they could adapt quickly and whilst there's is no guarantee's in football Ciftci has been in Scotland for two years and will be linking up with two ex team mates who will be very familiar with his game.

Pretty much a Celtic player now so I will back him.

Still have my doubts but I can see why we are interested, hope to * it works out.

Why do so many people say he is a cuntish player? I guess I haven't watched him enough to have any sort of opinion like that.

Can he really be any worse than Brown? He's a striker, honestly how bad can his sportsmanship against opposition be?

Aye it was in the cup, during that period we played United 4 times in 2 weeks or something.
