    I know that mate. I agree - Scott McDonald and such prove this. I think that was Strachan's biggest assett - he made average work and work well.

    I'm all for buying a little from our league but I just don't think Ciftci is the next level. He hasn't stood out in a strong United side either.

    He's stood out a lot more than Armstrong or GMS ever did when playing against us. We don't sign next level players, especially strikers - Cifcti has all the attributes we're looking for in a striker he just needs a little bit of time and coaching and he'll show himself to be the striker we are after.

    He fits a profile we need.

    But for some reason this signing fills me with dread. Maybe it's something to do with our recent history of signing strikers.

    Hope he comes in and does well none the less though, could go either way.

    I think the SPFL experience is good to have because he'll take less time to adapt than guys like Scepovic did.

    I think he could be an absolute revelation for us.

    Not overly excited at the prospect of signing Cifcti, to be honest.

    It could work out well, but I still think we need someone up top with actual CL group stage experience.

    I know they're not all in our price range obviously, but if our scouts are as good as we all think they are, then they can surely pluck another gem from somewhere, even if it's in Eastern Europe or whatever.

    United fans can cut their *. We're in the same boat. We have to sell our best players to Southampton, for *'s sake - Southampton have to sell theirs to Liverpool. At least United are selling to a bigger club.
