  1. I don't know why people want him he isn't an improvement on griffths and would be a waste of money. 16 goals and from what I can tell from some stats websites 0 assists in 34 games.

  2. When comparing individual ability, perhaps he isn't an improvement on Griffiths. However he is a completely different type of player who looks like he will suit our style of player better. Griffiths has done well, but he definitely isn't a lone striker.

  3. It's still not the point

  4. He would be another option than Griffiths. Griffiths is more of a goal scorer & Ciftci is more of a 1 up front link up striker. I really don't think we require an out & out goal scorer but somebody who will set up goals for the 3 behind & Ciftci fits that bill

He only set up 4 goals last year.

  5. I don't see how he won't be hit with a hefty ban. He has proved several times that he cannot be relied on to keep the head. I wouldn't be to happy with this

  6. A domestic ban doesn't bother.

  7. In my opinion, he's just what we need. He's the type of player who will bully defenders something we have lacked in ST over the last couple of seasons. He has ability on the ball and has a burst of pace. Ciftci is the kind of player we need in Europe and will provide the outlet in our play that we have lost since Samaras left

  8. I hoped Pukki could be the same but he lacked physicality and confidence. Çiftçi isn't short on either.

It looks like this is almost inevitable, so we may as well start looking at the positives. :smiley-laughing002:

Could be a decent signing for us.

Like with the Griffiths transfer I will be reserving my judgement until I see how he performs in the hoops.

  10. Would he be our main striker though? I can see him slotting in well in johansens place, especially when we are two games a week!

These are his stats from last season, Griffiths got more goals in half the play time but you do have to take into consideration that they different types of player.

2 of those goals and 1 assist are against us.

  12. What that does show is he's a more creative player than Griffiths though. Griffiths set up 3/4 goals last season in a far better team with a * of a lot more support than Ciftci gets at United. That's whT his hold up and link up play gets you, with our attacking midfielders being the main attacking threat in the team that'll do us good.

  13. Is that 16 goals and 9 assists?

  14. His stats would be better if he didn't spend half the season on bans!!!

  15. 11 yellows 0 reds.

  16. Looking forward to seeing him in the hoops. If he becomes a '24 hour athlete' I'm sure he'll be brilliant for us.

  17. I'll give him a chance, but I just can't help but be uninspired.

Is he going to score goals in Europe?
