If we made a move for Vossen I reckon' he'd jump at the chance.

Was in the paper last week saying how much he admires Celtic talking about the Champions League nights etc, you know the usual.

He'll have seen the success of Denayer here as well and now Boyata coming, both Belgians. If he came here and scored regularly and played in Europe he'd be in with a chance of making the Belgian squad for next summer, IMO. Not as a starter obviously but could still be in there.

Think I'm pishing against the wind though, probably not going to happen now.

    You probably are. :smiley-laughing002:
Ciftci ticks all the right boxes for us and he can hack the Scottish game.
Big robust all action striker, just what we need, and hoped we had got in Scepovic.

I really want Vossen think hes got a good scoring record at a decent level- Ciftci though is younger and a complete madman, i always look at scott brown though and how hes matured because he was a moon man to when he signed. Would be happy enough with Ciftci though because i think leigh griffiths deserves to be the number 1 striker- ciftci would offer something different.

Sounds to me like him and his agent were using Wigan to force our hand in to matching bid. Either way it looks as if he wants to come here..

I think if we sign Ciftci, it means curtains for Scepovic.
    Just a feeling I've got.

Hope not. More money squanderd and he hasn't even been given a proper run in the team yet

I'm sure this has been brought up already, but it seems incongruous to me for people to compare his attitude problems with Griffiths, when Ciftci's are entirely on the park (I may be wrong, correct me if I am) and Griffiths' are almost entirely off it. There are many players with problems with aggression on the pitch and this is far preferable imo, as it can be channeled.

Not many people have compared the two directly, but even taking the comparison aside, the point remains regarding Ciftci: being a * on the pitch isn't such a bad thing with the right management.

I compared it more to a young Broony, although on a scummier level.

There is being a * on the pitch (Arguing, winding up, backing in, shoving) and then there is being an immature * and biting, kicking and spitting.

Takes alot more to manage and channel that. His attitude shouldn't even be compared with Griffiths and Brown in the first place, because they have never done anything like that on the park. Minging thing to do.

Having a problem aggressively on the park is only a problem if not our player. Take Scott Brown for example. My Girlfriends cousin is a Motherwell Supporter, he hates brown "because he's an animal and has a shocking attitude on the park" but when asked if he would have him in his team "in a heartbeat" is the answer

He can't be compared with Griffiths anyway, because on the park Griffiths is normally incredibly professional. It's off the park where his problems lie, which is a different beast entirely.

I agree that his problems suggest he might be a risk, but I'll just be regurgitating that which has already been said if I say why I think we should go for it anyway, so I won't bother :smiley-laughing002:

In any case, if he does come here, I've got a feeling he could end up being a great signing.

I've not seen enough proof on the biting incident to suggest it to be true, I've not even heard about the spitting and as for the kicking, Broony had a wee go at Neymar if you remember right. Granted it's not even on tje same level as the one Ciftci done on Brown but, a kick is still a kick contact or not

There is another picture where you see the bite marks. I'm not trying to suggest Brown is an angel or anything either. Kicking isn't as bad but considering it was right on Broon's baldy napper it could have done alot more damage then a simple wee kick of the shin/leg whatever.

I think the environment at Celtic is actually suited to Ciftci, he'll have Ronny and Brown, as well as the rest of the club but I'll concentrate on them. Ronny will be able to manage him to focus his aggression on playing and having Brown keeping him in check will help. I would sign him as I think people underestimate how good he actually is. Remains to be seen but I think if he signs he'll win a lot of people over.

I'd have to see the picture of the bite marks to give my proper thoughts on it. And for the record I was raging with him for that kick on Broony, and the fact he got away with it. I'm not one of the people desperate to sign him either, but I wouldn't mind if we took a punt on him at £1m even though I don't value him anywhere near that. If United get anywhere need that they should find themselfs lucky. We payed £1m for Griffiths and he scored more goals in the Spfl and had experiance playing in the Championship

All of this is irrelevant, he isn't good enough.

Im on the fence with him tbh. Him chomping the Dundee players leg shows immaturity and a lack of self control. (can be coached out of him granted)
He can score goals and the amount we create im sure he will be a 20 a season striker if we sign him.
If he can lose a bit of weight and work on his speed/workrate with RD and link up play he could be potent for us.
Still would prefer vossen if we can somehow get him.

Disregarding the fact that I don't think he is good enough. We should steer clear he seems like a headcase.

If we did take him, Id never want to see him in a Celtic top again if he bit or spat on anyone while wearing our colours.
