Let's offer Utd 5 million for Ciftci and see if they still don't want to sell to us...

How good is this guy? I seem to remember him having an ok game against us once and once only but never seen enough to suggest he would be better than what we have for the SPFL and is he the level we need for the CL?

Was on trial with us before his move to United (the year before?) and we deemed him not good enough. I still deem him not good enough, combined with his now known attitude, it's a massive no for me.

Technically very good, strong and quick for his size, I do like him. Needs to add a few more goals to his game but I suppose he's not always been playing as a striker.

Would definitely take him but wouldn't spend any more than 1.5m.

He's been a handful any game he's played us, he matched Van Dijk in pace and strength, not in his class though. He'd be useful, he's the ideal lone man. If he would be good enough in the long run who knows but at 23 I'd trust Ronny to kick him on to a new level.

He's big, strong, fast, good finisher and good at linking up. Has a real nasty streak about him that would need to be stamped out, teach the guy how to focus hos aggression, would make him a far better player.

Ronny is the man to straighten any player out with the exception of ballotelli a steam road roller couldn't straighten that * out

I like big Ciftci, he's a quality player with bags of potential and ability. However, for me the outstanding striker outside Celtic in the SPFL just now is undoubtedly Adam Rooney. Top goal scorer in the league and his overall SPFL goal scoring record is second to none. He also seems to get a lot of his goals in the Hooper 6 yard box poacher style which I think we badly need. Added bonus of weakening our biggest rival into the bargain.

Pretty much how I see it but I think he could become a prolific goal scorer with us. I will go out on a limb and say he will become the best striker weve had since Henke if we get him.

How he plays fits us perfectly , not only will he go up a level we will go up a level.

What are you basing both of these comments on? He's been decent for United but I can't see the player that you obviously see.

I really can't make my mind up about whether I'd like us to sign him, the benefits are we know exactly what we are getting compared to signing a striker from another league. I think he can still get better as well, it wouldn't be too bad a signing depends on the price I guess.

He comes here he will play in an attacking team with better quality team mates around him , he will get twice as many chances at us , he will become fitter , stronger and hungrier and Ronny will adjust his aggression. Added to the great attributes he has already he is the perfect fit , Ciftci is exactly the type of striker that we need.

I hope he isn't going to be another talent we let slip through our fingers from the SPL as we will regret it as usual.

We're gonna need 2 strikers brought in this summer anyways.

If Ciftci is one of those I won't be too disappointed. As long as the other striker is a proven quality striker then we can't complain.

I haven't seen loads of him, but what from have i have seen and heard, then he's different from what we already have and offers a bit of power and aggression up top. We need that in final 3rd.

The deal is this. United want a big fee, they'd probably rather sell him to a team from down south.

So it's one we can keep an eye on and look to a deal later in the window when the price might drop.

That might be a risky approach, but that's what we've done in the past and it's how we've missed out on a few.

Either way Cifcti is good, but not the only good striker available in this window. There are options available for free.

Cifcti is better than either of them and has far more potential for further improvement. I really hope we get him and Soutar next window, because other teams are sniffing around them.
