    Ciftci, Souttar and Danny Wilson.

    Would you take that?

Not totally convinced with Ciftci, has ability but inconsistent. Never turned up in the run of games against us.

Souttar, I would be more than happy to sign.

the two home games they never got a look in but he was a handful and scored a penalty in the game at tannadice even when they were down to 9 men. and was suspended for the final. worth signing imo. he also wouldnt cost much .weve wasted enough on unknowns over the years.

I'd be happy with those two. Ciftci with a good attitude is a great player. Then again, so is Guidetti. I think DU would let him go though, he has been fairly poor for them this season and I'm not sure he still wants to be there.

Souttar looks like he could be Bitton's understudy. We definitely need someone that can step in when Bitton's not available and I have doubts about Mulgrew doing that.

He hasn't been 'fairly poor' this season

Not for 3 million and having seen him a few times, I think he's a liability; however, having watched the RD video of man-management, I'm sure if anyone can get the best out of the guy, it's Ronnie :50:

The price for him has to be right though, max 1.5 mil or look elsewhere on the continent....

It's a great deal for us. Souttar's one who's been highly rated and maybe his injury problems this season are a bit of a concern. He's played eight games in the league.

If it's a defense for Europe we want then Souttar would be a huge risk. If it's for a spot in midfield then it's not so easy to get a place in there.

He is young and can progress, but i've not seen much to suggest he'd be in the same sort of transfer fee bracket as Ciftci who has way more experience on the back of two solid seasons for United.

Souttar looked very composed in the middle of the park against us. That versatility where he can play in centre back role is a big plus.

He definitely one for the future but he could be great if he reaches his potential. We all complain about not getting young Scottish talent before it leaves, this is a step in the right direction for me. First Armstrong and GMS and potentially Souttar.

I think getting them both for a combined fee of £1.5m is great business.

There are better deals to be done in Scotland than signing John Souttar. Doesn't mean he wouldn't be a success here, i'm just looking at it from the point of view he really has had a terrible time with injuries and done very little for me to understand what the hype is around this specific player.

Was he really a star performer against us at the weekend? Was that part of the reason we were so poor first half? I'd need to watch the game again.

Scotland isn't blessed with good defensive midfielders and bringing in a big name might not make for a happy player sitting on the bench. Maybe this way we'd have someone who could surprise us all, but my own opinion is he'd be better off staying at United, proving his quality and progressing to a point where he's more effective.

Ronny wants centre backs, a defensive midfielder and a striker by the looks of it.
I can understand that, but with so many attack minded players available i'm not sure i agree that he's the pick of the bunch in all honesty.

Ciftci on the other hand has at least stood out a mile in that United team.

Until he's out of our price range like Robertson and Gauld?

At such a young age and for so little, it's worth the risk if our staff have seen something in him.

If we were thinking about spending £1.5m on him, plus whatever his wages will be, I would rather see us using that money to try and tie down Guidetti. That would be a far better option in my opinion.

I hope he has his head screwed on. Best place for him utd. Man city have a great youth set up but no one breaks into the team.

Be best for everyone if he were to stay and learn more at utd until late teens early twenties depending on his talent then make his big move like Robertson et al.

By the way, what do you think of players like Callum McGregor and Dylan McGeouch? You always hear people on here speculating that they'd be a big hit at a club like United (particularly with the system you play).

:50: I was thinking that but didn't want to come across arrogant.
