I think he's better than Pukki. He at least has more than Pukki, who is very much in a decline.

I wouldn't be against signing him, but anything above £2 million (and even that would be more than ideal) is probably too much.

He's got a decent amount of potential, but his attitude is a major concern. Being aggressive on the pitch isn't a bad thing at all, but he takes it to the extreme. The way he loses the rag and lashes out would make him a major liability in Europe with some of the card happy refs we come up against.

Agreed. It's been a problem we've had for a long time that's not been addressed, the way Ronny speaks I think he obviously wants this to change as well. We need a mix of building for the future and bringing in guys that can be in our 1st team.

From last season you could see a slow change with Henderson, Fisher, O'Connel who again have been involved this season at times, also now Tiereny. Needs to be a good bit of restructuring and changes in scouting.
We definitely need to broaden the nationalities of any younger players we bring in.

Would be a good signing would give us a bit of strength and different option up front.

Something about him makes me think he'd be excellent here. Still young and clearly a good all round footballer.

Aye i've got the same feeling about him. He has only just turned 23 as well. With the correct support behind him than what hes getting at united he will be much better.

I think he would jump at the opportunity too

I never said the thumb hasn't , Ronny is getting more out of him and he is maturing because of it.

Ronny can get the best out of Ciftci as well , its what Ronny does and developing players is his passion. He could be a 20-30 goal a season striker with us because of the attributes he has and I believe he would be a major asset for our squad.

Be a bit * up if we end up with an attacking 4 of:

    Ciftci
    Armstrong Johansen Mackay-Steven

See no reason not to go in for Ciftci (other than the temper stuff) considering Armstrong and GMS have both been a success so far. Id say Ciftci was arguably their stand out performer even with our 2 boys before Jan.

You forgot Bazoer who Ajax nicked from PSV by the way. :50: van der Wiel went to Ajax first before landing at Haarlem.

I think it will be Forrest where you have Armstrong and Armstrong will be rotated with Johansen and Brown , eventually he will fill Browns position.

I think Ciftci would be a handful in Europe. The main draw for me is we know what we are getting. As much as id be excited with some unknown player like Sergio Aurejo for Boca, he could still end up like a Miku or a Scepovic

Ideally I would punt Stokes, Pukki, Guidetti and Balde and have Griffiths, Ciftci and one other striker for next season and we would be sorted. Maybe getting Ciftci for saying £1.5 million and selling Stokes for £1.5 million. Might mean we will still bring in a £2.5-3million striker for elsewhere as well as Ciftci.

One positive is that he has tekkers. Could be good at unlocking tight defences. Too few of our players are willing to take a man on and beat him.

Get him signed! Bitton was absolutely shambles when we signed him, now look at him! Imagine what we can do with a hard 7...

He does have that Mediterranean skin tone and a well-groomed beard on him. There might be something to work with there.

On balance I'd say he'd be worth the risk.

    Pros:
    • Physical attributes - has pace, strength, height
    • Technical ability - can pass, shoot, dribble
    • Can hold up the ball and link well with others
    • We know he can produce in the SPFL
    • We know that he can operate in the formation that we currently employ, for a team that plays a similar style of football
    • We know that he combines very well with GMS & Armstrong

    Cons:
    • Work rate - that being said, the only DUTD fan to comment in here has said that it's not an issue
    • Attitude - he isn't the most disciplined but that can addressed and if channelled correctly could actually turn into a pro.

You may have noticed that I definitely want to sign him :56:

Not worth £3m but that would never be the price. I would genuinely be quite excited by his arrival for anything around £1.5m or under. He is a player who can actually flourish up top on his own. As much as I like our current strikers I wouldn't really say thats true of any of them. He is a known quantity and I always think that puts us off players when it shouldn't. GMS, Armstrong & Griffiths are recent signings which suggest that this should work.
