Good. This is the price range and leagues we should be looking at for our CB's.

I've never seen him play, but its definitely good to see we're being linked with players of good quality from a high quality picking ground. I do get the feeling with Deila that he has real intent and purpose in the transfer market as well as having clear ideas of what he wants.

hahaha you could set your watch to this forum. I was expecting this response from one of the hipsters and despite recent failures yes we should be looking to buy players from Ajax and Schalke. Ideally their best players (perhaps not realistic re Schalke but ajax yes)

It's not realistic in regards to Ajax either. The best they produce go for a * of a lot more than we can afford. Imagine us trying to buy Suarez off them when he was there?

Why are you just using Celtic examples? Even if we're just talking about CBs who played for us, Valgaeren wasn't slow.

There are plenty 'big, white centre-backs' who don't lack pace. Vertonghen, Vermaelen, Nastasic, Alderweireld, Jones, Cahill, Savic, Koscielny are just a few who come to mind.

To be fair he was referring to defenders. However you go and mention Nastasic and Savic. :56: FFS, they make Efe more Ambaresi than Ambrose.

im guessing your judging them on a handful of appearances for man city and not the good from theyve shown at fiorentina and schalke.

theyre both very good defenders. just because they looked shaky for city doesnt make them *. kompany is the liability in that defence, not whoever partners him.

on form kompany is a good defender, but thats becoming a less frequent occurrence over the last 2 seasons and when he plays badly, he is terrible and then tries to make up for it by charging out of position and leaving his partner exposed.

    Eh?

Not seen much of Savic but Nastasic is a good centre half. Pretty sure he won YPOTY in his first season at City.

Nastasic was pish from what I saw of him. He certainly won no YPOTY, ffs, Man City young player of the year maybe, lol, yeah amazing award that one. Josh Thompson won ours.

He cost fkn £15m, I'd want the complete package for that.

    Nah, not for me.

Savic looked like he had learned what a ball was when I saw him in a European match for someone a year or two back, but for City, he was Efe Tebily.................. oh and he cost countless millions too.
