Sterling might only get offered such a ridiculous amount by teams in the premier league, that is if they are definitely interested of course, and willing to meet Liverpool's asking price. I highlighted Pogba's contract to show how ludicrous it is to suggest Sterling is worth 100k p/w, when you have Pogba, a much better player, on 70k, and he could be on that in 2019 if Juve weren't willing to sell him.

No doubt you get better players for better money, that's not really the point though. The point is to get Sterling you need to be dishing out the big money.

John O'Shea Wes Brown probably earn 4,5 or maybe 6 times the amount of Virgil Van Dijk or Jason Denayer earn. The Premier League is a bubble in football, in terms of how much the teams within it can pay. You can't look at it the same as the rest of the World, to be honest.

Does this mean he is worth 100k though mate? Are we only basing it on the English market? The fact Pogba would be on far less than Raheem Sterling is laughable, and that is the point I'm making. He isn't worth 100k p/w. That's not to say he won't get that from a team in England, but would it be justified when you look at other players around the world, who are superior players, but earning less. As I said earlier, there will be examples which show the opposite, but I reckon most would be in England. If he is going to get his 100k p/w, I would say it will be from a team down South, rather than elsewhere in Europe.

 

This whole "is he worth £100,000 per week" argument is completely redundant to be honest. His value is subjective depending on who actually wants to sign him.

He's obviously worth £100,000 per week to Liverpool, isn't he? Otherwise they wouldn't have offered him the contract in the first place. That right there is the starting point for any potential suitors. I seriously doubt you'll see any offers coming in from clubs who would be looking to offer him less than that.
