McGrory's stats are unbelievable 538 goals in 534 appearances

    Surely it's Jimmy Johnstone.

Paul Mcstay deserves a shout too. Staying at Celtic through a bad time when he could of went to any team in the world

I wish someone could do this for Celtic games - Charlie Tully is a player I always wished I could watch playing....even just one full game :(

I went with Mcstay he doesn't have the repertoire of anybody else on the list but to me he's someone who embodies Celtic ( and the fact nobody else will pick him :smiley-laughing002: )

Some people tend to forget (maybe even not know) that Stein was a Celtic captain, as far I am aware the first non-Catholic, who led us to the Coronation Cup and a double despite our post-war troubles.

As reserve coach he was responsible for bringing through Lisbon Lions such as McNeil and Clark.

Don't think Paul McStay really belongs on that list but that's by the by.

I voted for Jimmy Johnstone having never seen him play in the flesh. His legacy has just been so enduring that he truly must have been exceptional.

The best Celtic player I've ever actually seen is Henrik Larsson. I suspect he will be the best Celtic player I ever will see too.

Why does Paul McStay not deserve to be on the list:97:

Paul McStay shouldn't even be mentioned never mind be an option.

I'd love to hear the argument for that one, he's not the only loyal Celtic player and other than loyality what did he actually bring Celtic?

It probably is Jinky, but I have to say Larsson. Im 22 and the season Larsson came was the first I properly started watching Cetlic and going to games with my dad. I completely idolised the man. I would have had dreadlocks if my mum let me ffs :smiley-laughing002:

He will always be the greatest ever Celt to me and I really hope he comes back to the club in some shape or form in the future.

He's not in the same class as Johnstone, Murdoch, Dalglish, McGrain or Larsson. He was a very, very good player up until he was about 27 then he deteriorated and lived off the reputation he had built up in his younger years.

That is a real shame because that is the age players are meant to develop their true talent so it would seem that he could have been something special.

I'm always torn between Dalglish and Larsson but from general opinion it must be Jinky although looking at the stats McGrory sounds like a phenomena, the Messi of his day.

Defenders never win Best Player polls, just not a natural position for entertainment (Efe aside), but from listening to ex players and pundits McGrain must've been fantastic.

Kenny Dalglish only has one more top league title than The Maestro and also * off when he got the chance.

If he is deserving of being on that list then Paul McStay certainly is.
