AC MILAN vs CELTIC CHAT HERE

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by celtic pride, Nov 29, 2007.

I have a funny feeling Adu is going to knock out shaktar after coming in as a sub in the 2nd half. I dont know why. It just popped into my head on the way to class today.

  1. It's difficult to judge how Milan are going to line up. Kaka hasn't had a rest and has played 5 games in 2 week. But the CL is Milan's top priority and i don't know weather Ancelotti would rest him. We're going to be tired for this match without a doubt. And we don't have a strong enough reserves and sub bench to beat you. I'm expecting Gattuso maybe Pirlo and possibly Kaka to start. Ronaldo didn't play tonight against Juve so he'll probably start. He's going to be desperate for a goal. Inzaghi may line up alongside him in a 4-3-1-2 instead of our usual 4-3-2-1. Pirlo is on fire with FK's and long shots right now so you can't let him get into space for get a FK in a good position.
Another reason we may not be fielding our best team is this Sunday it's the derby V Inter and we can't afford to lose it.

Looking forward to a great game.. I hope Shakhtar take an early lead.. Just to spice things up a little.

  2. Not often you see it but the odds for the draw have just gone odds on on Betfair:

    Milan 15/8

    Celtic 11/2

    Draw 10/11

  3. What is with the preview for the game on STV???

"Celtic need just one point to guarantee a place in the knock-out stage for the first time"

Have they forgotten us reaching the last 16 already, bunch of * clowns?

I think i'll be watching this on Sky Sports. :50:

Both sides can sit and play passy among the defenders for 90mins for all I care I'll still be glued to the screen and going apeshit when we go through. :50:

  5. any chance of an 'agreement' to draw this one 0-0.

  6. Was thinking along the same lines myself, I thought the Italians were well versed in the old brown envelope way of doing business. :icon_mrgreen:

  7. everybody's appy

  8. what was the really blatant case of an agreed draw relatively recently? It ws either European football or an international.

  9. Nothing beats this for carving a group up...

  10. Still got no tickets for this one. We are going to Milan and hope we can get some. Do people who went last year, think it's going to be easy to get some tickets?

  11. One thing struck me during the Hearts match. I was surprised that we played so many short balls from freekicks and corners when we have 4 big centrebacks in the team. When we also have Jiri and VoH in the team i hope against Milan we just launch the ball into the box at every opportunity.

Also read that Milan are not going to play a full strength team with a couple of the reserve midfielders and fullbacks likely to start which is good news. Donati was saying that if the score was 0-0 after 60mins then he was sure that AC would happily settle for a draw.

    I'm putting all 3 of my points on a 0-0 draw.:50:

  12. Yup vulture noticed that too but i was frustrated that all the big men went up then a * wee pass was played. If we were against a great counter attacking team and the pass went wrong we would be vunrable at the back.

As for milan i think if we can hold on for first half an hour then we will get a draw, us scoring 1st would be perfect as we could then afford to lose one .

As for them playing reserve defenders , this means our wingers and fullbacks must be at their best. McGeady should have a lot of joy if they are in expeirnced , Jarosik aint a winger. O'Dea will be ok if he plays like Saturday and Caldwell well lets not go their.

  13. in this day and age ,does any one think that a wee nudge nudge wink wink still goes on,i.e clubs on phone saying right we,ll play for a draw,or players agreeing a draw is best for both clubs,

i think it does still go on especially when it benifits both teams

  14. I agree.

  15. My guess is that Milan will just sit and as long as we sit in as well and not go after the game both teams will settle for a snoozer 0-0 and live to fight another day in the last 16. Considering the tough schedule and amount of other games both sides have just played and have to come up in December there is little incentive for both teams to go after the game rather then just sit in and settle for a draw.

  16. I think it would happen more in foreign football between two teams from the same country and on paper Milan should beat us at the San Siro so they will proabbly expect to win with any sort of team..................until we prove them wrong

  17. Not a chance of Milan agreeing to a draw with the Popes XI. After we beat them with a last minute winner plus the whole Dida incident they will be out for revenge. Plus can you really see Wee Rino lying down??!!!

On another subject, how much confidence have you got for the back 4? With a O'Dea and Pressley it may work to our advantage as they will be out to prove a point. Hail Hail!!!!

  18. we got tickets no problem last year...well, a bit of a problem, checking every bank in town but 3000 went on sale a couple of hours before the game....ive no ticket either but getting one will be no problem at all
