Exactly mate. I didn't hear him getting tore in about us last year after we were knocked out the league cup by Morton & the SC by Aberdeen, or when we were getting torn a new one in the CL group stages. Maybe something to do with his pal being in charge.

When we failed in the CL last year all Sutton said was that the board should have backed Lenny and the players let him down.

We hardly failed. We were 4th seeds and finished 4th. We beat Ajax at home and were in the running for at least 3rd until AC hammered us. Also Stokes free hit the bar which if 1cm lower would have meant a win rather than a defeat, changing everything. (AC away)

I wouldn't say the players let him down but considering how much cash Lennon made us then he should have been backed properly. He spent 5m that summer and took in the money from Wanyama, Hooper, Wilson.

It is funny, on this forum any criticism of Delia is met with the same level of derision you would reserve for Fritzel but at the same time people are rewriting history to underplay how well Neil done for us. Belittling his achievements and spreading false information about him spending tons of money.

The crux of the matter is that our defence was a shaky at times against Inter. Pointing out the fact that this is true is getting Sutton called all sorts, and for the record if Ronny does as well as Neil i reckon Sutton will put his hands up and give him his backing

The first game away at Milan was underwhelming. We didn't create much but had plenty of the ball, unfortunately the players didn't know what the * to do with it. Then we conceded 2 daft goals. The Barca game we were pretty unlucky, if Mulgrew scores that sitter and Brown doesn't act like a kid we would have got some points there.

The 4 remaining games were awful, even the win against Ajax we were *. 1 win out of 6, scoring 3 goals and conceding 14 overall is an embarrassing return. Lennon wasn't backed that summer which was a disgrace, but the money he did spend was * up the wall on absolute duds (Van Dijk aside).

Balde, Pukki, and Derk were poor signings granted although the signing of VanDijk will mean that in monetary terms alone we will at least cover our costs for that window (wages+fees). The Champions League is a tough nut to craic and 3 points isnt bad. Next season I would be happy enough if Delia has us competing for Europe after xmas right up to match 5. It is possible that we could lose all 6 games in this competition in the near future, and i thought that was possible even with Lennon here to be honest. I dont expect Delia to achieve what Lenny did in the CL but i would like to see him make us better defensiivley so that we can compete with these teams rather than recieve a mauling

So getting beat at home to both Morton & Aberdeen in cup games was getting the best out of the players? I loved Lennon by the way, but last season, was a poor campaign. Even with the big points total we amassed.

No it wasnt sure we had a few slip ups in the diddy cups but we qualified for the CL and had one of our most successful domestic title wins ever. Not that i am necessarily saying this is how you felt, but some supporters were bored with romping the SPL and falsely equate that with a poor campaign.

To be honest i love seeing us win any cup. In terms of importance though the 2 domestic cups are below the league and Europe, diddy might not be the right word. Anyway i hope to * that we win the treble this year ta * so that we can get it out of our system. I would like to see our development squad get a run at the league cup next year.

Why would i say it then? Do you remember the season before he took charge? He dominated domestically and was excellent in Europe. The only black mark was the lack of a treble (which i think he should have won). That is football though no manager ever gets 100% success 100% of the time. His recruitment was the best in the modern history of the club considering where we were before he came in and where he left us when he left, all while making the club money and having a chief executive cutting his balls off. He done a great job, as i said not 100% but a first class honours anyway.

You say we spent 5 million when it was more like 9 and if stokes free kick went in would have meant a win and that's a defo. Yes we had a dominant league season but I think that was in part being out of basically every other completion. The season before we had far better runs and our league form suffered. Also if the board didn't back Lenny then what the * do you call what they did for ronny yet Sutton doesn't mention it. Yes our defence was shaky at times but it he the style of play has a lot to do with it. Under lennon how many times did we score three goals?

Lenny has the record for scoring 3 or more goals I'm sure. Done it a helluva lot.
