Dundee United should be allowed to fill out their allocation any way they can. The rest of what you say is a nonsense really when we're discussing a neutral venue, it's totally irrelevant.

Where did all those 20,30 game people disappear to when we played in the previous rounds of the cup?? Only turning up for Rangers and the final it seems.

Asking for 25-30k tickets when half that turned to see us beat Hearts and Partick.

I'd be in favour of the 50/50 but would a unrealistic system of give them what they sold for the semis and a 50/50 split of the remainder be better .
we'd get 26,500 , they'd get 15,500. Not to many would miss out on a ticket on our side and Dundee would get 1,500 less then they wanted

The argument for 50/50 allocation rest on both club being able to sell-out those allocations; that is to say, there's a neutrality - neither side has an advantage in terms of fan numbers. If one club can't sell-out half the stadium, then the other club has an advantage and, it would appear to me, that that argument's invalid. You'd conclude, then, that the most sensible way to allocate tickets would be proportionally to the clubs' average attendances.

If United had an average attendance of 26,000, I wouldn't for one second begrudge them a 50/50 share. The fact that they're entitled to three times their average gate is what * myself and others off.

I dont hve ST as i work wierd hours and most weekends, but attend about 10 or so games a season if im off that weekend or weekday depending on game, i know as a celtic fan i wont get a ticket to this cup final because demamd is high and ST and people going to cup games are priority, i get that im a celtic fan and with a large fan base, i might no get to CL nights or cup finals. But if i was a dundee utd fan, attending like i do with celtic, id be like yas a chance of a ticket maybe to see my team get a cup as they dont win many and arent going to win league.

I went to both the Partick Thistle and Hearts games and I couldn't get a ticket for the semi-final and I won't get a ticket for the final because I bought my tickets for those games on the day, so if that's a dig at me, you can kindly go and take a * to yourself.

You're not making a distinction between the fans and the club though. Some clubs might have hardcore fans, and some might more casual fans. We might call them glory hunters or whatever but that's up to Dundee United. Either way, if they can get support for the final then fair play to them.

Neutrality means neither side is given an advantage by the SFA. If the SFA gave us more tickets they would be actively supporting us in the competition to the detriment to DU. We should only get more after DU hand some back - which we do. Therefore DU are entitled to the same amount of tickets as us.

There would be a massive uproar on here if Sevco made the final and the SFA had just decided to give them 10k more tickets.

Sporting integrity needs to remain intact even if that mean Vertie has to watch it on TV.

Obviously there would be uproar. They have a lower average attendance.

    Oh, wait...

Selling tickets to "fans" who never go to games, while fans who do are deprived of going because of what team they support isnt sporting integrity or fairness though.

Chances are they wont sell their allocation anyway after selling us 2 of their best players.

It wouldn't be fair on Dundee united if we were to get 75% or whatever percentage yous are suggesting.

At the end of the day, if you want a ticket for this game, due to the sheer size of our support and demand for tickets you have to be a STH, you have to take the tickets for games such as killie, motherwell, dundee united, Hamilton away etc.. You have to take your cup tickets.

If you have taken all these, then you will get a ticket..... If you haven't then unfortunately you don't meet the criteria and you can't get one.

They're not going to start cutting other teams allocations because you haven't taken enough tickets.

No it's a dig at the 15k Celtic fans with ST's that never turned up to those games but you think deserve a ticket to the final.

    Fairness though....

If you're a Celtic fan you need to buy a season ticket and go to all the Cup games possibly cost of £500+, even then you might not get a ticket for a final.

Dundee Utd fan "Im only going to go to Cup finals from now on"..... can go to every Cup final Willie Nilly.

Away games aren't really relevant though. Ofcourse they play a part but my dad has had a ST since 1995 and I think the last away game he went to was 10 years ago, he is offered a ticket for every game at Hampden. As long as you are on the HCTS you're pretty much guaranteed a ticket.

It's not about cutting other teams allocations. It's about not giving them 3 times their average attendance whilst we could fill 80% of the stadium with our STHs alone

I understand the harshness of it.

But it's the way it is. They're not as big a club as us. They're club get the tickets no the fans.

It's a neutral arena. They can't just offer Celtic 40,000 and DUTD 10,000. There's absolutely no fairness there.
