He was brilliant on Saturday when he come on. Best game in a Celtic jersey in my opinion. If he can maintain that level of performance it will give Rodgers another headache as to who should play in the number 10 role. Rogic had a very good first half to be fair to him and I was surprised when Armstrong replaced him, but once again Rodgers has spotted something in the game and has got his sub bang on.

There was something Strachan used to say, I think it was about Paul Hartley. Something along the lines of that it took him a long time to figure out what he was good at, what his strengths were etc.

Hartley played a lot in wide areas when he was younger (like Armstrong), but become a really tough central midfield player at Hearts who was capable of getting forward and scoring goals.

I think Armstrong can still make a player of himself, but he needs to play to his strengths. He'll never match Rogic for natural ability, but he can provide an alternative to him in certain games and situations.

Rodgers obviously sees something there. I hope Armstrong can get some consistency, as it will be a huge bonus for Celtic if he can step up.

Shows how fecking inconsistent he is right enough, rotate between him and Rogic for games since games will be coming in thick and fast now. Though I want to see Christie in there as well.

I'd rather play Christie in the number 10.

See him as more of a threat and he is technically much better.

I don't know what to think to be honest, the way Armstrong plays the number 10 role (if we take yeaterday as his natural position) it's far different to the way Rogic, Christie or Commons would. Armstrong approaches it from supporting the midfield and going forward, whereas Rogic and co play more off of the striker.

So, it's an option and it's an option that changed the game on Sat.

Armstrong plays it like Johansen in his months of prime played it. Loads of energy, not incredibly good technically but can help the press.

I still don't see him as a natural number 10. I think Christie and Rogic are, though.

Aye, I made that comparison to my brother yesterday but considering * are comparing him to Muller in here I thought better not throw another player into that list.

The Muller pish comes from Ronny:smiley-laughing002:

I think folk are getting carried away. It was a good half hour but we all have seen enough of him to see his glaring deficiencies.

His dribbling annoys me. Always seems to overrun it, happened on Saturday as well at a couple points.

When he arrived I thought his future would be as a box-to-box CM in the style of Petrov. Obviously nowhere near his level.

He's done himself no harm, that's for sure..

He was genuinely excellent Saturday. On the flip side though, we have to remember the level of opponents we were facing, which were pish..

Keeps working hard and making a big impact when called upon, then I have no problem with him around the squad..

That is true but he has done it against Inter Milan before. I don't think he's *, just a guy who lost all confidence and lost his way. He looked like he had confidence back on Saturday, even just look at his shot that Foderingham made a good save with, we've seen his shots be absolutely powederpuff, not definite in his movements, his shooting and passing. Felt like a * it, I'm doing this on Saturday.

I wanted us to sign Armstrong, I was a big fan of him at Dundee United, I wanted rid of him in the summer there... but he does have the talent to turn his Celtic career around I think. Just needs to build on that type of performance, bide his time and take his chances when they come.

By the sound of it, Rodgers has taken out of the limelight to work with him and give him a bit of confidence. I think we all knew that his best position was in the centre of the pitch. He never was and never will be a good wide player.

Thought when Rodgers came in that Armstrong might turn it around because he's his type of player, energetic and comfortable enough on the ball. He suits the pressing game. Really hope he can keep up the level of performance from the weekend, want to see him do well.

I'd like to see him do well too, don't get me wrong.

Have my doubts though over his ability. Just seems to be a player that isn't that great at one thing in particular.

Maybe Rodgers can put on his magic hat and work wonders with him.

He's sort of lived off that 1 Inter game for far too long now. We drew at home and it was 2 year ago. I genuinely couldn't pick a game since off my head, where he's been excellent..

It's obvious he'd lost all confidence and wasn't taking his chances early on under Brendan, but he was revitalised on Saturday. Aye, his shot's all had a bit of purpose in them this time, right foot one you mentioned, had a left one drilled in which was saved and called offside anyway and the goal waa a really neat finish..

I wanted him gone and if he's punted in January, I wouldn't be disappointed, but he's put himself in the frame with Brendan, and probably got a lot of the boo boy's (me included) off his back.....for now..

    Needs to kick on now..
