Compare Roberts contribution with his. So poor. Tried his damnedest but will never be able to play that role. As others have said, centre mid or nothing.

He was woeful today. Absolutely woeful.

Attitude all wrong, didn't want the ball, didn't chase his man, didn't do anything productive.

Too weak on the ball & too slow to play on the wing as well. Would punt him in the summer.

Can't see him being good enough no matter what position he plays.

Does absolutely nothing to influence a game.

Honestly, outside of Inter at home I have been very critical of him. I just don't think him or his pal have the mentality to make it here.

I think we've witnessed a player, who was classed by some as the next big thing in Scottish football, going backwards. Hopefully he can come good under the new manager.

Next season will be make or break for him at Celtic. If he has another season like this one then he'll be sold. I still believe in him though and think he has the potential to come good for us. His deterioration over the past year has been caused by Ronny Deila persistently playing him out of position. That has destroyed Armstrong's confidence. The new manager will have to build him up again when he comes in.

He's struggled to show anything positive all season. Doesn't help that he is constantly played out of position, but still.

    That's it.

His usual game is getting the ball on the left, cutting in or backwards and playing a simple pass. Rarely takes risks or beats a man. And pretty much every game he loses the ball at least half a dozen times through * touches or overrunning the ball. Pish.

In saying that, I'm hopeful that under a different manager he can turn his career here around.

His saving grace is his delivery from set plays, and when he plays he takes everything.

    Seriously?

He was utter *. He was the reason the fans in the Main Stand booed the Rogic coming off for Stefan decision.

I'm not an Armstrong hater either I don't normally get on his back but that was brutal from him today. I know a lot of people go on about the position thing as well but playing him more centrally won't change the fact he wasn't looking for the ball or tracking his man.

Sorry bud, I'm no laughing at you..

So we started him to halt Logan. To an extent you could say it worked as Logan did heehaw first half, although I wouldn't credit that to Armstrong. Anyway second half and we're 3 up at home. He was having a shocker. Why no freshen it up with someone to get the fan's back up off the seat's and threatening the sheep, who we all saw were dominating at that point. Christie/Ckr (who was dropped for Ronny's master plan) and Allan must be pulling there hair, or false dreads out:smiley-laughing002:

    He's shocking for me..

Aye he said he showed the reason why he should be a starter every game when he's on form.

I genuinely think the reason a lot of us wanted him here was down to hype and hype alone. The media had him billed as 'The Scottish Muller' and were going on about him being a future captain of the national team and everyone was choking for him to sign. I know for a fact I wanted him to sign at the time without having actually watched him play much and because everyone was banging on about how great he was and this made me believe he was class due to seeing the occasional clip of him doing something well for United.

When GMS signed everyone was split on him because he had become a bit more well known within our game because of his reputation with skills and people genuinely knew what to expect. The same could even be said about Ciftci even though more people were against him signing.

I genuinely think Armstrong has always only really been a decent player not a great one and has never stood out on his own.The only thing making him seem better was the media. Good players (a.k.a Roberts) have good games regularly with the occasional great game whilst decent players don't do anything the majority of the time but have the occasional very good game like Armstrong vs Inter.
