That's fair, but there are countless others we should sell long before even entertaining the idea of selling Stokes.

If we are moving folk out, I suggest we start with guys who aren't important first team players.

I agree, but that money's squirreled away. We won't buy until we sell so I was using this like a straight swap. And since Stokes isn't great, It would be an opportunity to replace him with Armstrong.

We won't get big money for them though, lawell could easily get 2.5-3 million for Stokes.

Never his fault remember though!! So many excuses made for him over the years. Burnley would be a good move for him at this point- few months of Premier League football, then he'll do alright in the Championship next year. £2-3 million would be a fair price.

Where has it went then? We only bought one player in the summer, and he was £2.2m. We received over £9m in transfer fees. (based on Newcastle getting 20% of Forster's fee)

There's more than a few deadwood but we're unlikely to get money for them. And you know how PL likes his balance sheet.

Find it very frustrating watching Stokes, continually makes the same mistakes and fails to adjust his game. He has ability and enough to sustain a place in the side.

Would I sell him??? Depends on what the offer is.

Are we in desperate need for the money?

One of our best players this season and most of you are wanting rid of him. Until we have another player who we know is able of scoring 20 goals a season, and has enough in his game to play as well on the wing as he has this season, its a no. Remember, we might not sign Guidetti. Then What? Only have Grif anc Scep?

Check previous years as well. We could also ask where the McGeady money went as that wasn't spent either. They'll say running costs!

At this point, we need to already be thinking of our CL qualifiers in July and August. Stokes would undoubtedly contribute nothing in those game as always- let's take the money and use it on a different option. Worth a shot- I couldn't take being 0-1 down on aggregate desperately needing a goal, seeing Stokes blast the ball miles wide in the 89th minute then turning round and whinging to everybody else. It's the right time for a move.

You might want to go and check that, because we spent over £10m that year when McGeady left. His fee basically funded Lennon's first year team.

He's been a * key player this season, not a winger for Europe but still very good domestically.

No need to check, I'll happily stand corrected.

Murphy, Juarez, Hooper, Kayal, Izaguirre, Stokes, Watt & Commons were all brought in the season McGeady left.

Never been a fan. Any money we receive for the player will be a bonus.

I did say I'd stand corrected. But since you brought it up, You'd be lucky if there was £5m spend on all of them. I believe Hooper was the most expensive and he was under £2m.

Juarez commanded a big fee if I remember correctly, close to 3mil.
