Inter has had the same problem, look at what _OC_ wrote. We'll see if Ronny can fix things faster than Mancini :icon_mrgreen:

The way we have been playing this season? No chance. But it could all change by then and maybe with a bit of luck we could, it's football at the end of the day anything can happen.

Yeah I know, but they have more tools to pick apart our Unit, than we do.

Of course we could, will we? I don't think so but there is always a chance.

I think Roberto Mancini's return to Inter has come at a bad time for us. Inter were a bit of a drifting ship under Mazzarri but they're starting to play a bit better now under Mancini.

The good thing about playing ainter under Mancini is he is very conservative. He's one of those managers who likes just enough to win. We can take advantage of that, if we keep them under pressure high enough up the pitch.

    You think?

I always thought his Man City teams were pretty attacking. Especially at home. They might play a bit conservatively when they come here but I expect they'll be going for the throat when we go over there.

They were, until they got a lead and he'd move Yaya Toure defensively and set up shop for the win.

He'll set up more defensively over here. We must win that.

'We need to sign some good players in Jan if we were to have a chance'

The kind of stupid thing someone who never watches football says.

We have played countless games over the last 15 years where we have won, with lesser quality players, and lost, with superior players.

Inter are a poor side, especially away from Home. They don't score many and they often conceded the opener. Their only natural goalscorer Icardi is heavily linked to leave the club in Jan.

This isn't the David v Goliath that it is being made out to be.

And it always backfired on him in Europe.

Very good point that. It hasn't proven to be good enough in Europe.

Mancini has been there since mid-November, he's only won 2 games and 1 of them was a narrow win in a meaningless EL game. He's dropped a further 6 points off of 3rd (last CL qualifying place)

Mmmmm Sorry I wrote that wrong. I meant if we sign some good quality players we would have a much better chance of getting a result, where as now I'm not as confident. Ur right it isn't the David vs Goliath, but i don't think we are good enough right now.

Statements like this really need to be put into context. This present Inter side may be a poor side compared to Inter sides of the past but their squad is still far more talented than ours. If Inter play to their full capabilities they will go through. End of story.

We need to keep our heads at CP, win or draw I fancy our chances going to Milan, in a half-empty San Siro against a failing Inter team struggling to make the CL.

Our record against Italian sides, particularly those that sit back, is very poor.

We really need Guidetti to hit some form this month leading up to the tie.

With an on form Guidetti in our side we are far more dangerous. If he was allowed to play in the group stages I think we might have even finished first.

They regularly struggle to score and keep a clean sheet. They have only managed 26 goals in Serie A. 7 of which came in the 1 game. They have struggled to cope with league and EL.

They were hardly convincing in the EL, 2 draws with St Etienne, 2 narrows wins over Dnipro and a narrow win and a game they should have lost versus a Kazakstani(?) team.

You can't say Inter can beat us if they play to their full capabilities because they haven't done so yet this season. There is nothing to fear from Inter.

Serie A is a substantially higher level of football than we're playing at though. When they face us they'll be taking a step down in quality whereas we'll be taking a step up.

I didn't watch any of Inter's group matches in the Europa League, but even if they were unconvincing, can the same not be said about us? We did not play well in most of our group games either.

Again, you say Inter haven't played to their full capabilities this season. That may be so. But is that not also the case for us?

Every criticism you have levelled at Inter could equally be applied to us at this moment in time. This is a poor Celtic side compared to past Celtic sides, we struggled our way through our group in the Europa League and we haven't played to our full capabilities for any length of time this season.

If we were playing really well and looking like a good side then the problems Inter are having would be more of a reason for optimism.

Wait, they scored 7 in the one game and haven't played to their full capabilities? * sake man.

We scored 6 and I think we can all agree we are nowhere near our full capability. :smiley-laughing002:
