I've waited 32 years for my favourite movie stories to be continued properly!

All I can say is WOW!

I cried like a child! Utterly brilliant movie!

Haven't seen it yet but I'm sooooo * glad that the lightsaber battles from what i hear are more gritty and realistic none of that flying all over the place choreographed bullshit.

I will not ruin it for anyone, but if you liked the original 3 movies then this is Star Wars reborn

The three prequels were a CGI wankfest and they made me vomit. Jar Jar Binks for * sake!!!

This is the real deal, it's absolutely amazing

I can't wait to see the kids playing with that Sphero BB8 robot at Christmas cos this little guy is brilliant!

I thought it was good but not as great as some folk are making it out to be. Certainly redeemed the franchise for me and has that "star wars soul" the prequels completely missed. I'd put it on par with Return of the Jedi.

Loved the lightsaber battle and that interesting twist about the force i.e
Kylo Ren fears falling to the light side of the force rather than the usual other way around.

Now since we know Jar Jar isn't in the new movie that point is kinda moot, but it is really interesting that all this evidence is coming out that George Lucas originally intended to make Jar Jar an evil Villain who was plotting against the Jedi from the start and only abandoned this a little more than halfway through episode 2 because of the hate for Jar Jar, and now that the make of the animated series and writers for some of the Star Wars Books have either semi confirmed this or are actually backing the theory now, only makes me want to go back and see Episodes 1-3 again

Never go back and watch episodes 1-3 again. I refuse to acknowledge them as part of the Star Wars canon.

I've never even seen the prequels :56: Don't have any desire to watch Star Wars films without Han, Luke, Leia and chewie.

Anyone else draw parallels to Harry Potter in this? Kyon Ren is like Snape while the big guy snork is like Voldemort. Then you have the girl Ray who is like Harry Potter with no parents but possesses a special power and has a lightsaber/wand that chose her.

I take it that Ray is Luke's daughter? The lightsaber force battle between Ren and her kinda showed that, I thought.

Might take the weans to see it on Saturday.

Not a fan of Star Wars in any shape or form, nor am I a hater - is it tolerable to watch for someone who doesn't really care much for it?

    Of course.

It's obviously better if you know the backstory and who's who, but it's still a good film if you have no idea. Plenty of action, humour and amazing visuals.
