Are you sure? I don't see what your argument is then. You therefore agree that Palestine is a nation and not a proscribed organisation. You agree that there is no rule banning the display of national flags. That there cannot be any (consistently applied) rule banning the display of national flags of parties to that particular conflict as the Israeli flag does not get fined. To me it follows that you agree that this is abitrary censorship.

So do you agree that we have the right to raise issues of consistency and fairness with this fine and to challenge UEFA in the courts if need be?

No, you're not. You watch the same football team as me, perhaps.

So if it's not right do we just sit down and accept it? That's not the celtic way and you should support your fellow fans

We are supposed to be "more than a club"

It's a mere marketing strategy nowadays but it used to mean something.

Charitable, socially conscious, politically motivated and not afraid to tackle the issues of the day head on.

Too many people now just hang on the coat tails of the marketing department and don't give a * (which is fine) but are actually starting to oppose it when other Celtic fans do (which isn't fine).

Here's another marketing slogan for you. "A Club open to All". That includes politically and socially conscious Celtic supporters.

Been banging on about it for * years but why don't the "it's jist a gemme a fitbaw" crew get on with watching the fitbaw and let other people do what they like. Whether that's moaning at Sammy or Stokes, playing on their iphone or highlighting injustices around the world.

Yes clowns in the sense you'd rather see the club fined than simply obey a rule.

Of course Palestine is a nation. I have never disagreed with that I'm sure most people think I'm pro-Israel or something because of what I've said but that isn't the case. At the end of the day its a game of football and I really don't see why waving the flag is such a big issue. Sure we can take it to the courts and waste time and money doing so, I just don't think its worth it.

LOL! been attending Celtic park since I could walk, what defines you as more of a fan exactly?

For a lot of people it isn't just that, at all.

I didn't say you attended Celtic Park any less often than I do. I disagreed with your assertion that you were every bit the Celtic fan I am. We differ greatly in how we see Celtic.

I don't really care if we appeal or not. As long as we make no apologies for it.

It's not just over a game of football; it's over the arbitrary censorship of fellow Celtic fans. That's always worth fighting.

UEFA is European wide competition, I can see why they want controversial things banned from the grounds. They have to make it as fair and as unbiased for all, not just us.

If you can show me where I've "tripped up" I'll happily call it a day.

So what exactly "defines" being a fan then? Political issues? Flag waving? What country you're born and raised in?

If you did support Israel I wouldn't mind but people who try and stop other celtic fans or would want them to stop aren't real celtic fans to me. it's being political since its inception and always will be and rightly so. if it never was political it would never be here the way it is now

As I've said, we are playing in a Europan wide competition, under the rules of UEFA. They are not censoring anything to do with Celtic, just stating a certain flag cannot be raised. Its not that big a deal.

If this was the case then they should also ban the Israeli flag. If they did this then maybe we could accept it. But while they are being biased and unfair we cannot go along with them

I have simply said when playing in a UEFA competition we should make an effort to abide by their rules. Not to stop supporting Palestine or anything of the sort.

It is a big deal. Why the focus on the Palestine Flag? Britain, USA and Israel especially have been causing far more death and destruction than Palestine.

Why aren't they censored? Why is the Palestine flag being singled out for special treatment?

Those poor * people take heart from seeing people all over the world showing solidarity towards their plight. It's a * nonsense that this is being censored.

I hope Celtic fight it but they wont, they will accept it meekly and more stewards will be drafted in to confiscate flags and more supporters will be banned as a result.

I 100% percent agree with that, I think its unfair to ban one flag and not the other. However there are Israeli teams playing in the competition so that creates its own problems.

Tbf you never what UEFA are going to do next. Palestine flags have been on display in our stands for several years in UEFA competitions.

When we played Hapoel, half the ground was covered.

Just seems UEFA get tension in the * over certain issues, then turn a blind eye to them the next week. A completely corrupt and erratic organisation.
