Sky just confirmed this fell through due to a paperwork error; clearly not only Legia are * administrative idiots.

    Humble pie you say :smiley-laughing002:

We ended up with a guy that 90% of people on here were telling to get to * as he wanted too much money, (even though we don't know what we offered him), and lost out on a guy due to paperwork issues that almost everyone on here was excited about about.

So all in all we've managed to save 2k a week on Scepoivc, got commons to take a wage cut and sent Guidetti back to try and make himself a free agent to save us yet more money.

The penny pinching has reached critical level.

LOL, that's how I see it.

Total shambolic window, we're out the CL, we've bought a guy that doesn't really want to be here and if he hits the net (in the SPL) then he'll be off before next year's CL campaign.

As said everyone was more excited with Guidetti than the Merc.

We could have done with a centre half and defo needed a midfielder.

For me PL has pulled the plug on JG move as he'd probably have a hefty wage to pay.

“Loan deals are a possibility but they are not ideal,” . “You don’t want to develop other clubs’ talent and not get any money for it."

    Wonder who said that?

i think the wage bill is lower today than it was going into transfer deadline day, 1 in and 5 out, but we always come out every window stronger

Did they not say they aim to come out stronger.

6 players in and dead wood out and you don't think we are stronger....??

We shouldn't be trying to build half a team on them, that's for certain. I never once complained about the loan deal for Forster. However, when we could potentially have the bulk of our starting X1 made up of uncertainty, then of course it's a worry. These guys might not be here next year, which would leave us in a big mess come the qualifiers, if they all become regulars. When we still hadn't brought in a striker, with only hours remaining in the window, any sort of deal would have been good. Daibhi suggested getting a striker on loan yesterday, and I actually agreed, purely because I was desperate for one. Nearly all of our signings shouldn't be consisting of loan deals though.

stronger in terms of what ?? i think we are getting weaker and weaker year in year out, the quality of player coming in, seems to be going down and down, time will tell if the numbers added just now are any good at all

The way football is just now.. We're probably just as well
with loan deals.. Contracts are not worth anything nowadays and anyone who comes to us who is any good will try and engineer a move away..

We're going to see a very changeable team every year from now on..

Agreed. Scepovic cost the same as Pukki.... Another player who scored goals in a better league than ours :fear:

Any chance of us pushing a free agent, imposing defensive mid through in time for the Europa who'll do the job Wanyama did? Playing Mulgrew as the anchorman is asking for an early exit.

What's happening with Guidetti then? Thought it was a done deal last night.

Also * Stefan, rid neck taking him after he tried to go to Getafe over us.

I said minimum of 7 would go out and was right.

Though Henderson, fisher and twardzik would have went on loan or released too

People said McDonald Mariga was decent, he's a defensive midfielder.

Try for a 6 month contract or something.

Some players I thought that would be useful on the freebie list someone posted.

We sold a keeper and got a in my opinion better keeper for free
We didn't strengthen the back 4 as well as we should have but keeping VVD is massive I think he will go in Jan though if we fail in the Europa
Midfield will get stronger when Brown returns and finally getting 2 exciting wingers on loan should be good for us
Happy with Scepovic he might have * us around but he's here now so let's get behind him
Griffiths should be 2nd choice now with Stokes 3rd but I guarantee Ronny will see it the other way round
