Leigh Griffiths could be close to a sensational return to Hibernian; Dave King and Mike Ashley set to save Rangers with £4m boost and Peter Lawwell admits he’s desperate to hold on to Commons and van Dijk

    Griffiths linked with Hibernian return

CELTIC striker Leigh Griffiths could be set for a shock return to Easter Road before the transfer window slams shut, it has been revealed.

The 24-year-old has played 15 times for Celtic since joining from Wolves in January, netting seven goals.

But Ronny Deila is reportedly ready to let Griffiths, Kris Commons and Anthony Stokes leave Celtic as he attempts to make his mark on the team.

Griffiths scored 31 goals in 66 matches for Hibs during two loans spells between 2011 and 2013 and despite a host of off-field issues, won the SFWA Footballer of the Year award and was called up for Scotland.

Hibs are looking to bolster their squad before deadline day and have been looking at a number of trialists - but Dutch attacker Donovan Deekman will not be joining the club. (Various)

Seems a bit late in the day to be getting rid of them and replacing them however does show he is not happy with the team he has been left with. Think he is looking to change the whole style and play of the team.

Think we would need a massive overhaul however commons and stokes are good players who offer something different.

Griffths is a goal scorer but looks like ronny doesn't like him. Would expect him to score for fun in the league not to sure about Europe. Then again same goes for stokes and commons in Europe. Maybe he is making a European team

Load of pish, deila said he will build his team around commons and said griffiths has world class finishing and he could be a great player. And he favours stokes as he plays him all the time. Pukki and balde will be the ones he's trying to get rid of

When did he say that about Griffiths?

I reckon if Griffiths doesn't make it here, it won't be because of his ability.

We can make a massive profit on Commons but I still wouldn't even think about letting him go.

    Stokes, yes.

Keep Commons, time for the other two to go. Good riddance, you were never welcome at Celtic, Griffiths, you *.

Lawell and Deila are 2different people you would hope the manager is the one making the decisions.

Doubt there is any truth in it however does show a major change in attacking options which I think was evident in qualifiers. Need a European quality player

I would hope at this stage they have an idea between them who is being kept regardless of who actually makes the decision.

Never welcome at celtic??? Bit harsh?

Griffiths has made a few poor choices agreed but stokes? Kilmarnock 3-3 game he showed up that day when both the team and club needed it. Defining moment in our club over the last couple of years

Stokes and Commons were welcome, I'm talking about Griffiths. For Stokes I think his time is up also though. Thanks for the league goals but we need to look for better.

What are you on about? After the home defeat to Legia, Griffiths tried to attack our fans.

Hope Stokes and Griffiths leave , both have proved useless in Europe. Commons is a good player however his age is against him.

Stokes and Griffiths I would glad see leave but only if at least once other striker was lined up to sign. Commons as much as I am a big fan of his, if a team comes and makes a good offer for him I would take it at this stage of his career.

Can see Griffiths possibly going but that is about it.

Deila already said the other day he could build a team around Commons, and I can't see Stokes going anywhere yet.

To be honest, now is the perfect time to rebuild. No Champions league and no competition in the league. If Stokes etc aren't in Deila's long term plans then maybe it is worth cutting our losses now and focussing on future stars like McGregor and other youths.

Commons is a big game player but we don't really have any big games this year, beside the Europa, which isn't really taken seriously till the latter stages. As someone mentioned, time isn't on his side.

Deila and Collins both stated early on that they expect their players to perform well on and off the field. Griffiths and Stokes could be for the chop specifically because of their antics.

I'll be absolutely sure Ronny has taken leave of his senses if he lets Commons and Stokes go.

I can think of about 10 players who should be going before those two.

would like to see him getting the chance to put his own mark on the team and use this year to bed them in now that the CL is gone and preparre for next year as they clearly arent good enough no so much commons tho.
