Would you want an English team in group stages?

i dont really care as long as we get there,but would like to get an english team and ram their "best league in the world" pish down their throats

 

I'd love to play any of them. Celtic are miles behind the top English teams in terms of players and finances but it's still a great spectacle.

 

A think you were watching the wrong competition then if you think we didnt have a tough group last season..

 

We don't get easy groups..

 

It would just as hard for me to swallow if we got beat 4 or 5 nil by anybody to be honest. If we got beat 5-0 from Real Madrid, I would be just as annoyed if it had been Chelsea. At the end of the day, both clubs are an irrelevance to me.

I agree with you on playing teams we haven't faced for a while/at all though. It would be good to see different teams playing at Parkhead.

 

I could take a pummeling from madrid, it would hurt but i'd get over it but chelsea i couldn't, that would haunt me..

 

Do you think the fact you stay in England plays any part in that?

I just see both of them as other clubs, that I couldn't care less about. None of them are our rivals, so I wouldn't be more annoyed about taking a heavy defeat against one of them. I would just be equally * off.

 

A few years ago maybe, but long gone are the days of us beating English Premier teams. I would hate to see a Legia type score against someone like Chelsea! We would never hear the end of it! And the English press are soo patronizing. Call me cynical, but I think we would get destroyed with the weak team we have now against any of the English teams in the Champions League.

Aye, I can understand where you are coming from then. For me, it's different though. I would be bitterly disappointed if we were cuffed by any team, if it was our rivals, then of course I would be more annoyed, but I don't see Chelsea as that. I just don't see them as a relevance if I'm honest, same with Real Madrid, Bayern etc

 

basel done thum at stamford bridge,so it is possible.basel are a better side than us though.

 

Fair enough mate, if we were to play them home and away i bet a few who saw them as just another side would develop a real dislike to them also..

We've never had a rivalry with them as we've never played them in a competitive game..

 

I don't really mind who, it will either be a glamorous group or a group with a realistic chance of Europe after xmas, so win win

 

With all the talk from RD full of the most knowledge ever heard in Scottish football and having signed either on loan or bought out right half a team , I have no doubt we can beat any over paid EPL side home and away. However I prefer not to play them as no doubt their fans will be annoyed that we have voted to stop subsidising them and provide young Scottish lads and lassies to clear up their * on places they declare " peace" in . We would be as welcome as in Legia.

 

All the teams would beat us but just for the trip Chelsea again would be fun. Other than that some nice European trips would be preferred.

I wouldnt mind one but I would rather it was Liverpool so we could also get Bayern or Real Madrid from Pot 1.

My ideal Group would be Real Madrid, Dortmund and Liverpool. Imagine the atmospheres at they games, id also want to go to the three away games.

What have they got to do with anything? Why mention them?

 

a voted a don't care .but the more I think about it i would love a game against arsenal or Liverpool,its only a bus away as well.getting fed up with playing benfica,milan,barcelona.wouldnt mind a French team this year.
