Why loan him? We're light in that area. Kayal and Brown won't play a full season, Mulgrew isn't suited there, leaving us with Biton and Johansen...

I agree our midfield lacks real class and he'll get the game time if he works hard..It will be frustrating for him as he would have felt he had made his breakthrough under Lenny.. But if he shows the right attitude he'll be ok..

He certainly has all the right attributes to make it so no need to loan him at this stage..If in January he has not gotten the game time that would be the time to loan him..:shamrock:

He's not going anywhere, loan or otherwise..

This kid will be a star and he has plenty of game time coming up here, this season..

If we want to finish his Celtic career the best thing we can do is send him out on loan . Mc Gregor is the only one of nearly 100 players Celtic loaned out over the past 10 years or so . Liam Henderson deserves better and hopefully Deila will soon see him in a better light .

You seem to be confused on this point. It's not sending the players out on loan that ends their Celtic careers, it's the fact that they don't have the ability (or in some cases mentality) to play for the club. McGregor is an exception because he has both.

Almost all of the player's who have failed after a loan spell were not good enough to make it at Celtic in the first place.

McGregor had the potential to make it here and seized the opportunity with both hands. Watt's loan spell was successful in a sense. It earned him a move to Standard de Liège. He had the potential to make it here but not the application.

Countless clubs use the loan system to their great advantage, why should we be any different? Do you think there's something inherently wrong with Celtic?

I don;t think Henderson should go out on loan but not for the reasons you've given.

OverandOver. I think the confusion is all yours. Correct me if I am wrong but to the best of my knowledge Celtic have loaned out scores of young players over the last 10/12 years and as far as I know Mc Gregor is the only one that has came back to Celtic and has at least started to have a successful Celtic career .
Now feel free, OverandOver , to list the other good young Celtic players who have returned to Celtic and played well.

I think you missed his point, mate. He thinks that the ones whose loan spells were unsuccessful weren't good enough for Celtic.

I don't think either of you are confused, they're both valid viewpoints and it's hard to know who's right without a time machine.

You've missed the point. It doesn't matter how many have returned and been succesful or otherwise. This is a prime example of confusing cause and effect. Just because very few loan players succeed at Celtic, doesn't mean they failed to succeed because of the loan spell.

Hopefully he will be starting tomorrow considering Ronny is going to rotate the team.

Out of them scores of young people that have went out on loan and returned to never make it.
There aren't too many that have moved on and we have regretted though

My point is going away on loan aged between 18 and 22 many young men become disillusioned and with plenty of money in their pockets head down the road no professional sports person should go. I refuse to accept that our youngsters year in year out over the last 10/12 have been so bad individually that so few would have decent careers at Celtic or elsewhere . Something has gone badly wrong to turn them out so badly . I think it is loaning out and will continue to think it to someone is able to prove me wrong . Over the last 10/12.years the only players who have come through, have done so without been loaned out apart from McGregor .
Maybe RD hit the nail in the head talking about not wanting to develop loan players for the loanee club's benefit . Its obvious that our young players were have been used as back-up and either not played or played out of position
Not playing and a poor lifestyle for a season could seriously damage any young player's career.

Things I know nothing about? I was stating fact, as you know - or have you forgotten the many debates we've had about loaning players out? And even now you still persist (even when literally everyone else disproves you) with this ridiculous claim that going out on loan is worse than staying at Celtic, where they won't get a start because they're not yet good enough.

This is the last I'm saying on the issue, as I don't come on here to put up with your bile. I'm surprised you've not been banned with the way you address other posters.

Loan deals are better than a player sitting in the reserves, with no reserve league..

If the player has the right attitude and see it as a chance to prove himself and not the end of his Celtic career, then why not..Maybe other players we've loaned out are just not good enough.. Tony Watt impressed enough to get a move to a top Belgian team..

Henderson to Notts County could work although they are different players..

Everyone entitled to an opinion by the way that's what a forum is for!!:50:
