Think Bairds is still shut but Saree head is just across the road. I used to go on a bus from Liverpool that always stopped in Hamilton but that was probably 15 years ago. Can't remember that much about cept the landlady seemed to be one angry woman. Remember being sat in there once with a few guys drinking cans and she came over effing n blinding and took all the cans away going mental. Thing is we had just bought them off her husband behind the bar bout a minute earlier.

I was born in East Kilbride but moved down to Redditch, Worcestershire when I was 5 because of dads job and have been a passionate Celtic supporter since (over 30 years) I used to get loads of stick from Villa, Blues, WBA, Man Utd and Liverpool fans at school but because my old man used to take me up once a month to Celtic Park they actually respected me and it was good banter. I still go up to about 15 games a season and have a 4yr old boy that I'm going to start taking soon. The 1st Division as it was then and now the EPL has its draw with some of the world class players there but when your heart is with the Hoops there's no changing it !! I'm working in Fife on Tuesday so getting a ticket for St Johnstone !! HH

I have grown up in Newcastle , my father is from Glasgow but lived here since long before I was born. I am 25 father 74.

my father give me a great choice and took me to all sorts of football games. Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, England etc ect.

it was Newcastle madness here when I was growing up with kevin keegan.

I walked out onto cetic park on the tour as a child and that done it for me.

my friends on both sunderland and Newcastle side are celtic second team (don't follow us too much) as I went to a catholic school and obviously I drag them to games.

as to growing up a celt down here................

I have noticed for years the gap is getting bigger and bigger. the standard of the EPL has left us for dead. (btw I don't think its the best league).

for me it shard to see my mates having constant strife, excitement, terror etc, as we all know how our season is going to take shape. argueing over how we have won the league isn't the same

Growing up in Luton as a Celtic fan wasn't too difficult as we have a very good and well known supporters club in the town and seeing the hoops being worn around the town is not very rare. So many of my mates were Manure fans as kids and now we're all grown men I don't know what good they get from it

I was out drinking with some of them yesterday and with a couple of yids. They were talking about the whole Legia situation and sure enough talk of where would Celtic finish in the EPL. My answer is always the same, WHO CARES?

Its only an accident of geography that the question gets asked anyway. Where would Benfica finish in La Liga or where would Basle finish in Serie A.

Couldn't care less about the overhyped, corporate mess the EPL now is.
May change my mind if Luton ever make it though!

I remember waking up on me birthday 1972,and my present was a Celtic kit. I was 8 years old and Celtic were a feared famous club throughout Europe.
I was born in Yeovil, and moved about a lot in Somerset when I was young.
I can remember Celtic lost 3-2 to Clydebank and bawling me head off cos me dad said they had won ,this was the season they were terrible, I think they finished fifth.
I can remember my now stepdads stepson was also a Celtic supporter, he was a proper thug and was famed for throwing darts at the Fulham keeper at a Bristol city match. He always had his Celtic top on and could not believe the only other person in wells in Somerset who had a Celtic top was his stepdads lady friends son. I only met him a few times and never heard from him again after he ended up in jail.
How bizarre is that, and the fact Yeovil started to wear to hoops recently, before they had a hibs type kit for years.
It seems I was destined to support Celtic, and if I ever got lost in the jungle I would stumble upon a lost tribe all wearing Celtic tops and who worshiped a * called Larsson.

Live in a small town with reading csc being my closest, still about a 40 minute drive. If anyone else attends Reading csc drop me a PM!
Fair to say I hardly ever see Celtic fans around town, think their is one bloke who wears the hoops out and about.

All my mates support your arsenal/chelsea etc, but none of them seem to travel to games, this shocks me because if celtic were based in London I would be regularly attending as its only about an hour away. I get the usual comments about the league and how we would never compete in the EPL but when a serious conversation eventually starts, they can all understand the financial situation. Personally I would rather support a club like celtic than a club with no passion like most in the EPL.

I wouldn't say english celtic fans are the most dedicated but the ones who attend matches home and away whilst still living down here must be up there! :celt_2:

Originally from Airdrie but lived in Corby most of my life. For anyone who doesn't know, Corby is a town in Northants that was commonly referred to as Little Scotland because of all the scots who moved there to work after the war. Hence, ther were always plenty of other Celts (especially at school). However, I still get crap from my English mates about Scottish football. Normally, I shut them up by asking why they support Liverpool / Man U.. whoever. Usually, its no more than a choice they made when they were about 10 because that team was winning. Then I explain why I support Celtic.

I'm from Kettering, born here from parents both from Airdrie :smiley-laughing002:

I remember going to my first game when I was about 7/8 (I think). I loved the stadium, the fans, everything about going up to Glasgow to see a game.

We had a CSC here a few years back, lots of celtic fans about here cause it's right next to Corby (where I thought there was generally more Huns). The club used to go up to about 5/6 home games a season, and one of the pubs in town used to show our games cause we'd fill the place, was a cracking atmosphere especially OF games. Sadly the chairman left as did a lot of the members and the CSC disappeared :(

These days I just get to watch the odd league game on TV (cause we only ever seem to be on Sunday afternoons when I work:31:), and the European games.

Been to Ajax away last year, and the wembley cup, but it's been so long since my last home game, mainly as I don't earn enough money to pay for the travel and don't have any free time to get up to Scotland.

Not easy being 300 miles away but never stops me going through all the emotions, celtic through and through even if I am an "English bassa" :smiley-laughing002::shamrock:

That Depeche Mode when we score!!
I know the score all to well,i lived in Altrincham just outside Manchester from the age of 4 and a half to 28 and a half,i was surrounded by the English team fans, but there was a Celtic Supporters Club in Altrincham in those days!!

In my School of 750 there were just 2 of us.

Now in North Wales its EPL Everywhere but i bumped into an English Celtic fan a few months ago who has supported them since 1977!!

There are a few Welsh Celtic fans down here, but most of a cult following here is ex pats.

    PS Great Topic!!!!!!!!

    Heisenbird - you sheepshagger! lol.

I think my big brother was in your CSC.
I have some great memories of travelling to games over the years. My favourite was when I took my football daft French father-in-law to a game. I was driving, leaving at 4am. Picked up my brother and his mate Fat Alan, who got in the back seat with a crate of beer (he was still drunk from the night before). He cracked open a beer and gave it to my father-in-law who politely refused. Fat Alan knocked back 6/7 more on the way up and continued to talk to nonsense to my father-in-law for 6 hours even though he doesn't speak a word of english. When we got to Glasgow, Fat Alan said he was too tired to go to the match so we left him in the pub. My father-in -laws face was a picture. He still talks about it now. He has been to a few Celtic games over the years and loves our passion if not our football.
