Ah, okay, I see what you mean. I think I may have been slightly at cross-purposes. If debate in the boardroom is "no debate" because the fans are not involved then I see what you are saying.

Too late for a discussion on minority shareholder protection! Thanks.:50:

Unbelievable that folk think if we spend we'll end up like the currant buns.

To quoute someone I heard recently "you are chasing rainbows if you think we are even close".

When they went bust they had an infinite credit line. * infinite.

Spending money they never had, like a schemey gone mad wi a platinum card.

We wont spend money we do have, that is the difference. Its an idiot comparison, even when they tried to liquidate us we had the same finances as that shower.

It really is time for some to wake the * up.

Is that what actually happened to them? I had the impression that they tried to cheat their way out of millions in tax and got caught. I mean who do they think they are, Tesco or something?

Am telling ye mate its like panic on here if you mention Debt or spending money a lot of people are lawwell fanatics!!!

difference is we have the cash and the facility to spend, problem is if we are in debt the board dont get as high a bonus and shareholders dont get as high a dividend.

I know, we can but try. Main thing is we all love the club but for some they refuse to see the truth. It will eventually come round....its already happening.....for some.

Aye ok and they know that how? Listen this is a club that is charging fans to go to Murrayfield that's a subsidized venue ffs.

Its all about profit no.1. Celtic and the fans come second.

I'll not shut up about any of it. Thank * for the likes of Mr Paul Larkin!

Same here mate ST sales down by over 10,000 during this current 5 year strategy by board (obv huns no being about too) match day ticket sales down by 3,000 on average during same period, wage bill slashed 43%, player trading profit of £19m to date in same period, most transfares are undisclosed so no one really knows until the accounts come out how much we spend.

£5.36m cash at bank on 31st dec 2013

then income in 2nd half of season of:

    £15m from CL participation
£5 in prize money and TV revenue.

so thats where the projection figure of £12.76m cash at bank is coming from unless we pay off historical debts from the trading profit and loss account.

if it is within £1m of that figure then thats fine anything less than £11.5m then questions need to be answered by the board as it doesnt take more than £14m to run celtic over 6 months.

Season tickets are down because the bubble burst and our attendances are back to normal, that's not really the board's fault. It has much more to do with the state of the Scottish game and the pull of the big 4 leagues.

What do you expect, it's a PLC. Of course profit comes first and Celtic fans second. What do you expect?

No one is worried about a sensible level of debt as long as it's invested wisely. It is a simple fact that going into debt to finance poor investments will put us in trouble. So there are three questions:

    1) Where are these great investments you want us to make? Where are the £5m strikers who are young, proven, have a good potential resale value and want to come to Celtic?

    2) Where is all this cash we're supposed to be sitting on?

    3) The transfer window is still open, how do you know we won't be investing substantially in the playing squad this summer?

Also I wouldn't be a bit surprised if some of our targets are waiting to see if we get CL football (which, let's face it, is our only real draw) and will turn us down if (as looks likely) we go out on Wednesday.

so just read an article from a few months back saying that celtic are debt free because of recent champions league runs... which is good! but it also tells me that we must be doing something very different to the big clubs in europe where they are virtually all in debt another article from 2 months ago stated that Real madrid are in £500million debt even after last years champions league success. looks like you can either be a debt free football club that is * or a good football club in debt there is very little in between

I don't know mate but it must have come down due to the fact we sold/released a lot of players and non playing staff.

Someone else in one of these threads and i have heard it before that we still have the loan out standing with the co op to the sum of 30 million and that will not be paid off until 2019.
Is there any info on this,is it fact or fiction.
If we do have this loan still running and paying it off it could explain why the club is not running up other debts.

Its called "fair play",Man U owe about 600 mil,Liverpool owe about 350 mil,Barca owe about 300 mil,Real's debt would take care of most small countries budgets, but see all you wee * well its only "fair play" that you play qualifiers.
The GB were right "* UEFA",but all us so called wee teams will just keep on prostituting ourselves to get a piece of the action,to shut the * up.
