Should the Board/Lawwell be 100% Transparent ?

So we have a transfer fee ceiling every season whereby we won't buy a player over a certain amount no matter how good it would be for us.

So should the board/ Lawwell announce this at the start of the search the max amount we would pay for a player and let it be firm and final?

It would turn away teams who want ridiculous amounts for their players if they knew the max we could afford and what we would be wiling to purchase for.

Then it would allow us to seek out more reasonable purchases.

Also it would attract players in the bracket we could afford to request a transfer to us if they wanted to move upon hearing our interest.

NOT only the above but it would keep fans out of the dark when it came. To rumours and demands - take Finabogsson for example. There's no way to * Lidlwell would have paid for him but he could have prevented 2 summer months and a winter month of speculation.

But then again on the flip side - is our global brand and all that * just a ploy for purchasing season tickets and the keeping fans thinking we can afford the best but don't go for them just a gimmick?

There is no * doubt something needs to change but the recurring theme seems to suggest that it's not the manager to blame.

 

It's not Deila's fault. He can only pick the team in front of him. Lawwell has shown no cutting edge in purchasing players at all. When was the last time we bought someone for a high fee that really got us whetting our appetite?

We've signed some great players over the past 10 years no doubt but the amount spent nowadays is total guff.

Missing out on the CL money will be very disappointing considering we really should be going for the 3rd appearance in a row.

Of course its the managers fault for he picked the team and the so called tactics,and yes its the boards fault for hiring a guy,from who,with a record of what?

Lawell is telling you and me and guys that love celtic football club that he's a balance sheet man , ( company man ) depends on devotion from fans that love club ,,and spends * all and watch them come back every year without fail let them argue how were debt free or should spend ,,, celtic football club is renowned for its support worldwide ,, it's about time we got team to match the fans then we would be moving in right direction ,,, Legia result was a joke and joke is on everyone that supports a board that is laughing all the way to bank ,,,

 

If your blaming Deila then by extension your blaming Lawwell and f you blaming Lawwell your blaming Desmond. The buck stops there.

The ultimate way to show your dissatisfaction as an individual is to stop spending your money on Celtic.

 

And if you are blaming Desmond you are blaming the shareholders, and if you are blaming the shareholders you are blaming Celtic, and if you are blaming Celtic then you obviously hate the club.

I think the buck actually stops at the happy clapping, do-gooder fans who have turned a blind eye at being taken for a ride. They are decreasing, but are unfortunately still prominent.

For me unhappy "fans" who are staying away are customers. They are buying into something only if it meets their criteria. Where as the fans "happy clapping do gooders who are being taken for a ride" are going for the love of the game and club.

 

Do the board reciprocate that love the fans show?

 

Unfortunately, I have to agree. Lawell thrives on green coloured spectacles I'm afraid.

I don't want our fans to stop spending money, if they feel they are content with how we are progressing.

For fans that are discontent, I would assume they'd stop spending their cash.
