why did n.l go ?

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by shaybhoy, Jul 25, 2014.

  1. A manager known for getting a lot out of young inexperienced players, working under a small budget and getting results against richer teams in Europe.

I'd say he would be seriously considered for the first managerial casualty of the new season in the EPL.

He might even want to take some time out and do some punditry, who could blame him for wanting an easy life for a while?

  2. Are you trolling here?

  3. No not trolling at all giving an opinion the op asked why NL left and there is my reason :50:

  4. I think this is a possibility. the board knew that this was our only chance to get Deila. They asked Neil if he was planning on leaving in the next year or two, Lennon said yes so they asked him to step down now instead.

  5. Your post seemed more like revealing a fact rather than giving an opinion.

  6. Well apologises if that's how you read that it was my opinion that's all :50:

    :50:

  7. He deserves to do what he wants..

    End of..

  8. :56: aye that'll be it

  9. Good luck to Lenny whatever he does next :50:

  10. I don't think that's what happened but its an alternative possibility. Someone said it on here after we appointed Deila.

  11. He left to concentrate on the regrouping of the Green Brigade!

  12. I think NL and the Board had a meeting, and NL said if you want this team to go further in Europe then you'll have to invest in the squad and keep the best players instead of selling them.

Board disagreed and said the strategy is to buy low, develop, sell high and start again, and gave him a derisory budget, and NL said, I've taken the team far enough and without more funding I can't go any further. Thank you and Good bye!

  13. Sounds about right to me!:50:

  14. ha ha ha, yes they must've told Roy Keane not to accept the job and go to Aston Villa so they can get Ronny Deila!

  15. I was happy that Lennon left........very happy.

  16. Thats a coin mate. There are 3 sides to this story Celtic, Neil Lennon and Hugh Keevins.

  17. This.

Some of the results he gave us over the years were quite unbelievable especially when you look at what Mowbray done to us. Not to mention Lenny's left us in a great position to build.

  18. Should've been sacked the minute he released that calendar.

  19. Yes, good point, we were in some mess in 09/10.

I'm willing to put my hat in and say Ronny Deila will not do any better than Neil Lennon did as Manager. He is hamstrung already by the reducing budget and trying to get miracles out of players who aren't the best Celtic team from history.

I think Deila will find it hard not to lose less than 1 game all season and make the last 16 aswell but best of luck to him.
