    When the media have the need to mention if someone is a former soldier or served any time at all in the military.

    ie. 'Black Watch veteran tells of night in bin after airport bus mix-up' in my local rag today.

    The story goes on to tell his tale with no reference to his past. Is it to pull on the Brit heartstrings?
