I would welcome Del Piero to the club as a Player/Coach. I am sure his striking experience would be invaluable knowledge to Pukki, Stokes etc. For his coaching input, I would not mind him getting the odd game, so he can say he wore the jersey competitively.

Well at least Ronny seems to know what he wants in terms of player and isn't a romanticist. Unless his thinking was wages based.

I'm glad Deila has pretty much bumped this on the head if I'm honest. I couldn't imagine him coming here for any less than what some of our top earners are on, and I just don't want us to spend a big chunk of wages on a guy who is 39.

There's no doubt the signing of Del Piero would make Celtic money - from the additional season / match day tickets sold to the merchandise. And not just from us - but from fans of the man from around the world! (much like the Japanese fans who followed Celtic purely for Naka!)

Combine that with the obvious talent that the man would bring that would not only benefit us on the pitch but on the training ground and throughout the club!

    Ale for player / coach!!!!

Well we'd hardly be signing him to play Champions' League football.

If it was a player/striker's coach role I'd take him. Player only I'd pass. Was one of my all time favourite players though so I wouldn't be too
upset if we did get him in as a player.

We could groom him as our next manager.

In fact we should just sack Delia and let Del Piero take over.

Del Piero would bring so much to Celtic! The role should defo be player / ST coach! We have a GK coach, then Danny McGrain and Ronny who can coach the DF, Collins for the MF but still nobody for the ST's!

If Alex isn't the perfect fella for this role I don't who is!!!!

Offer him the chance to take his first steps in coaching and end his playing career in the CL and as a champion - and hopeful cup winner...

    No brainer!!!!

Why.....can the man turn a player like bangbang into a striker....naw.
If the talent is not there then it don't matter who the coach is.

He actually can, that's kind of his job. Talent by itself means nothing.
