Imagine how he feels knowing he's been placed by someone even worse

Was thinking the same, I'd rather have someone who can actually make a save, but both of them are *.

 

So all of sudden one of the best Scottish goalkeepers of our generation is * :smiley-laughing002:

Granted he hasn't been at his best lately , but to brand him as '*' is ridiculous. Lay off the glue .

 

Not all of a sudden, it's been a bit more gradual than that and *'s a bit too strong; but the guy is right that he's become very prone to errors.

 

Gordon is a 7 out of 10 keeper- on his day 9.5 out of 10.
De Vries I wolud give 3.5 out of 10.
There you have it Gordon back in for Alloa and if he does welll keep him in the sticks as he needs the practise before being pepper sprayed by Man City!

 

I'm not saying he was faultless ,but some of us need a sense of perspective branding him as * and similar.We would be doing very,very well indeed to replace Craig with a better goalkeeper. We did not do that with Dorus De Vries.

 

Gordon's been proper * lately and is a bottler in big games for me. Better than DDV though.

 

I would agree with that. I just do not see at all how De Vries is supposed to be an improvement at all.

 

No, it's not ridiculous at all, and you should remember that this is 2016.

Back in the day he was by far the most talented Scottish GK of this generation, and I was always his big fan. He's first season with us was great, except for Inter game when he received encouragement from the fans to keep on, to get better. Unfortunately he only became worse, and now that same GK looks like a traumatized little girl, he make rookie errors, he's completely unsure about what to do. His shot stopping is still good, but apart from that... Just look at the Malmo and Hapoel games. Nowadays he only cost us points.

 

For me he gets a by ball for last season, how could any keeper be confident the way Efe and Boyata were playing in front of him.

 

This is a good point.
At the end of the day, I think Gordon has been shabbily treated by Brendan.
It is Brendan's first serious misstep as manager and it has cost us dearly. Thrashing by Barcelona ( record breaking ) and two dropped points to the bottom of the league team.
My advice to Brendan would be to make peace with Gordon, apologise privately for it, reinstate him in goal and move on, because he if dozen't, and perseveres with De Vries, this affair may cast a long shadow over the rest of the season.

 

Gordon should be our first choice keeper. It's easier to teach a keeper to better his distrIbutton than it is to teach a keeper how to make a fecking save!!!!
