Around 2008 Boruc was definite top 5 IMO.

A number of pundits, his Manager obviously included, thought he was the best keeper at the Euros.

At the top of his game yeah Boruc was right up there with the very best.

Gordon seems to be another one getting it in the neck. He made one bad decision in the 1st half and yet made a tremendous save in the 2nd.

Folk getting on the guys back on a few occasions on Saturday. Wanting him to throw it out when only one player wanted the ball and the rest of the team were running away from the penalty area, with their backs to game. Say Gordon gave the ball to Bitton. Who was the next pass after that?

I would disagree with that, if anything Gordon gets a very easy ride off the crowd and in general.

His mistake in the first half was shocking and should have been a definite goal, the entire match takes on a different complexion if that happens.

In years gone past goalkeepers took a pounding for mistakes, even Boruc and Forster, Gordon seems to be treated with leniency when the criticism is getting dished out.

He was getting it tight on Saturday, during the first half. I was behind the goal and the stuff shouted at him wasn't very nice, to say the least, but then I don't think a lot of our supporters have much confidence in him anymore.

His kicking is so bad and that chance for ICT? :31:

I still think he's a great goal keeper, but I wouldn't be unhappy to see Bailley get more games.

Gordon really does need to utilize his experienc more - his distribution is currently horrendous (aimlessly boots the ball up the park all the time, instead of playing it out to his defence), and looks suspect at all aerial balls into the box.

Not any more. I was behind his goal and he was getting absolute pelters.

From what I seen/heard on Saturday, the crowd were happy to let him know what they thought of that mistake and his * kicks.

Gordon gets a lot more support from the fans than any other goalkeeper I can think of. Even if that support has dwindled somewhat, it's still quite blatant.

I presume it's because he's Scottish, as homegrown players tend to not get as much stick as foreign players, for the most part anyway.

Don't think there's anything wrong with giving Gordon a bit of support when he's going through a patchy period, especially considering the season he had for us last year.

We know the quality is there, so can understand why fans aren't giving him as much stick as say Efe for example.

There's a balance to be struck, he doesn't need counter productive abuse but he does need to know we expect better.

This is the guy that sold the jerseys against Inter and the entire crowd sang his name for a good few minutes solid afterwards. He's been afforded greater leniency than the vast majority of players I've seen come and go since supporting Celtic.

The last player we could actually call a Hero and another forced out the door by Lawwell

By his own admission he didn't try, lacked professionalism and drank vodka and ate cheeseburgers like they were going out of fashion.

I don't think equates to Lawwell pushing him out the door. He walked (squeezed) out the door himself.

I get your point here, but it doesn't make overly much sense to me, above all else surely keepers are judged on their consistency. Boruc was a talented shot-stopper but even his spells where he would like unbeatable he was never gave us the assurance that Forster gave consistently throughout his time here...... and even at Southampton now.

Yup, which is why I have Forster above him overall. His consistency, he's a machine.

    Artur was more spectacular.

I used to blame his dodgy keeping on his dodgy legs, looks like he has dodgy eyes too.

He's a top shot stopper no doubt about that, but he's * with crosses and too indecisive. First season he was fantastic except the Inter game, this season I think a big part has been having a different defensive partnership in front of him most of the season but now it's settled hopefully finds his form again.
Still happy to keep him but Bailly should be given a run out, take Gordon a step back for a bit would help him more than playing him through it.

I don't see that. He has been beaten by some very average strikes this season and he seems to have trouble holding onto shots too.

He doesn't have any presence at all. I don't feel confident that he'll make saves.

He actually looks nervous and uncomfortable in SPL games now, not just Europe.

Like several other players, he's a shadow of himself from last season. It does make me wonder about what might have happened behind the scenes. So many players look short on confidence or uninterested at the moment.

For a brief moment I would say you could easily have said that Boruc was one of the top keepers in the world.

My memory is sketchy but correct me if I'm wrong, didn't the wheels fall off the bus after the bit of a howler against hibs?

He was a total confidence keeper.

Bailey should get a run of games now .
That flap at the cross on Saturday was farcical as he missed it by a mile and we were lucky the Caley player missed the target or we would have been 1 down .
