    Ooft...Bad Lieutenant (original) is a tremendous film....brutal.

Cant even think about watching the remake with that slag trying to sleeze in on another cash cow!

to be honest I really enjoyed the other Bad Lieutenant- it wasn't strictly a remake- more of a re-imagining by the great German director Werner Herzog, who I am quite obsessive about as I've seen all of his films.

It was strange as * and tried to be humorous and outrageous with Cage being his usual over acting chewing the scenery best.

the original was just soul crushing- Harvey Kietel never had a more raw performance.

I'm the same with Cage, but I have a couple of films that I really think he's great in, Leaving Las Vegas, Birdy and Raising Arizona. Face/off is another guilty classic I suppose from cage :icon_mrgreen:

And I suppose Wild At Heart fit's into the cult classic variety, which he was in as well.

    he's * weird though, must say :56:

I dont hate him....and like you ive seen a few i like, like 8mm which i thought was great, and to appease my inner geek, i liked "Knowing", but i dont think i ever forgave him for World Trade Center. I know America would sell its soul for a few dollars, but i wasnt personally ready for anyone to make a film about that day!

Best cult Cage films are Vampire's Kiss and the Wicker Man remake. For the absolute maximum, completely mental Nicolas Cage, they are his finest.

Jesus, the Wicker Man remake is one of the worst films I've ever seen.

    Matt I slap you repeatedly.

but yeah, I suppose Cage was doing his thing in them to the limit, can't argue with that actually :56:

That's why it's so good! The bit where he punches a woman dressed as a bear is comedy gold.

Tell me there isn't something wonderful about this. On some level anyway. Skip to 4 minutes for the money shot.
