HNY Sean, one trick pony?, don't get it, it is not me saying Spurs are good (although they are) it is Ronnie, the Celtic Manager saying that spurs are good to watch, that was a fantastic game, Everton vs Spurs, i just wish Celtic were in the EPL, it would be fantastic.
And others will never agree, it would go against the grain, to acknowledge the virtues of another player who plays in a different league , especially down South, but Deli Ali looks to be a wonderful talent, that goal yesterday and a similar one against WBA were great.
Of course Ronnie D likes to watch good football and he must applaud the management skills of the spurs manager, as he his team playing a high tempo, super fit and passing game, just like Ronnie wants Celtic to play.......one trick pony, ehh ? just the simple truth

They better back him, then. Because their apparent strategy of us selling players for a good profit won't really work if the players play poorly in Europe or don't get there at all!! This board hasn't replaced Wanyama with a similar type of player. Never mind of the same quality. That is the number one priority if we are to do better in Europe next year.

As for Ronny apparently learning from bigger clubs- there's sadly not much to learn. They can throw money at the problems. Our club won't. One thing Ronny could learn is- to be less stubborn with his formation. Insisting on the same approach to a problem over and over is the definition of stupidity. If he persists with the ineffective 4-2-3-1, the results will get worse, and then he'll get the axe. I can't see the board willing to back him forever.

That,s the thing for me if he does get dough to spend how will he spend it, he has been garbage in the transfer market, a read a report we were looking at 2 spanish strikers, what good will that do us when they will never get any game time with his powder puff formation........

See he wants to learn from spurs well what he should learn about his formation is that spurs can go out and spend 30 million on the likes of lamela, or 15 mill for eriksen, players that are near enough world class that play in the 3 behind the striker, we have an academy player in forrest who cant get to the byline at times because he,s doubled up on because he,s our biggest threat, commons who has no pace, and armstrong who is played out of his natural position, teams know how we set up, far to easy to play against. the way he has that team set up is shocking no wonder some of the players look like they have chucked it.

If Ronny wants to learn from Spurs then a few things that stand out.

    1. 7 Managers in 12 years - if they are not successful they are out.
    2. Spend money like it's going out of fashion and don't always get it right - 2 years ago, Paulinho £17m and now playing in China. Soldado £26m and now playing for Villareal and Lamela £30m incl bonuses, has been in/out but still there.
    3. Great Youth Academy.
    4. Have the ability to attract young players from UK and overseas.

Last and by no means least,
Play great, attractive, fast paced football and because of the type of football they play now and for which they have always been renowned, always have a full stadium.

I'd say they're spot on. They wont bring in a new man and give him this window. Even if the unthinkable happens against Stranrar the new man wont be appointed until its too late to spend.

Does anyone think Ronny will ever at any point stick two upfront from the start of a game ? And did he ever when managing in Norway :shamrock:

He done it with us last year, with Guidetti and Scepovic. 2-0 with both scoring, against St Johnstone I think it was.

    Aye, from the start.

Doesn't make much difference tbh, anytime he goes two up top the shape doesn't chamge all that much. Just the guy in behind the striker goes a bit further up the field.

We'd get murdered if we played that all the time.

    Pretty much.

Lenny tried that a few times as well, was never succesful. He done it that Caley game that basically lost us the league and against Aberdeen in the cup last season.

Midfields are far too packed for us to get away with that these days.

Quotes attributed to him today equally encouraging as they are embarrassing. Embarrassing because they are in relation to a pub team but encouraging in the fact that "obviously", a fact he should have known 18 months ago and applied it in Europe.

When this buck go's, I want the days of Celtic Football Club giving out apprentices to rookie managers to stop. It's handier to just hire someone who gets it from the start.

That website is a lot of *. Stirring *, and cherry picking sentences to come up with an angle that will get them clicks.

What Ronnie actually said was, he's going to be looking to bring guys in but even if he didn't he believes the current squad are good enough. The kind of thing managers always say to gee them up at a time when we've not been at our best and all that.

Fs. Folk should know better than to take the likes of that website or the Daily Record at their word.
